This poll needs an "It depends" option.

For the Undaunted pledges, there is no way I would bother completing the Non-Veteran dungeon pledge unless I decide to join a group of lowbies and not as their group leader. Both the Silver and Bronze rewards are not worth the time or hassle of completing these dungeons due to the dungeons scaling up to VR12. For the Veteran pledges, they are only worthwhile if you are going after the new helms and pauldrons - and I am not convinced those are worthwhile after the initial cool factor fades.

If you are leveling the craft skill lines, then the crafting writs should be completed every day. For max level crafters, there is less incentive to complete them.

There is no reason to complete the Alchemy Writ more than once if you are a max level Alchemist unless you simply want the quest XP.

The Enchanting Writ is only worth doing for the chance of receiving a Survey Report which might lead you to 2-4 Kuta rune stones.

Similarly, the Blacksmithing, Clothing and Woodworking Writs are only worth doing for the chance of receiving a Survey Report that might lead you to Upper Craglorn where you can find 3-5 Nirncrux stones.

The Provisioning Writ should be completed every day by everyone. Each writ rewards a recipe and new recipes are coming with the Provisioning overhaul in Update 6. Also, you will receive 10-20 mats that previously could only be obtained from grocers, thus saving you 630-1260g. Their value comes from not needing to buy them for future use given their resell value is practically nothing.

Of course if you are trying to accumulate XP for Champion Points, then all of these dailies should be completed as often as possible:

Where are you getting the numbers for what you might find… PTS?

The ESO vid from mid-October says the writ leads you to an area, like a treasure map, where you will find several nodes yielding more than normal.

The Upper Crag for Nirncrux writ was stated as an increased chance in an area to find them on nodes, not a set number… so 3-5 would seem to be an utterly insane number unless you have seen it happen.

    Just curious.

Personally looking forward to doing as many of both kinds as I can when it hits.

I have completed all of the writ quests several times on the PTS with my VR14 character who is level 50 in all crafting skills. For all the writs apart from Provisioning, unless you receive a Survey Report, the writs are a waste of time after the first time. If you need the quest XP, they have value. Otherwise, the inspiration points you receive are worthless if your skills are already at 50. The 75g you receive is less than you would make by selling your crafted goods to other players or to vendors. The reward chests seldom contained anything of value - a repair kit and maybe an ornate item worth 200g if you are lucky.

You only receive Survey Reports about 30-40% of the time. If you complete the five non-Provisioning writs each day, you might receive two Survey Reports. Even if you do receive a Survey Report, there is no guarantee it will lead to a location with Nirncrux stones. I think only the Blacksmithing, Clothing and Woodworking reports could lead to places in Upper Craglorn where you will find the stones. Sometimes these reports will lead to locations in Lower Craglorn and you will receive no stones. There are three different reports for each craft with locations in Craglorn andRNG determines which report you receive, if you receive one at all.

If your report does lead you to Upper Craglorn, 3-5 of the nodes (of the 7-9 nodes in total) will contain Nirncrux stones. So you're gambling here as you will not receive a report most of the time and even if you do, it may not lead you to a a Nirncrux cache. The choice is yours.

The Provisioning Writ does not offer reports. Instead, you receive a recipe every single time and it could be green, blue or purple. Plus, you receive grocer-only mats as well. If you have the passives that create four food and four drink items each time you craft, these writs are the only ones guaranteed to be profitable as you (usually) only need to turn in one of the four items, thus leaving three for the next time the writs ask for them. The writs cycle through the items you can craft at your level and can be completed almost instantly if you already have the items in your inventory. You simply need to deliver them.

    Thanks for the info!

Seems like the Nirncrux market is going to implode within a week of the patch, so sell em if ya got em… now!

If you are not level 50 in a crafting skill, the writ quests are definitely worth completing due to the craft skill inspiration points you receive.

There are also achievements for completing X number of writ quests, with the final one coming in at 250 completed writs.

@LonePirate‌ Thank you for the detailed information! This might mean that my motivation to complete dailies will taper off eventually, but I can see a good three months before that happens. It does seem like a stop-gap measure to entertain us while waiting on the systems that will have a larger impact.

If they're worthwhile, absolutely. If they give me nothing decent for maxed crafts, absolutely not. If they're an awful source of gold income, absolutely not.

They need to be worth it, just like everything else in this game, something ZOS has had trouble getting right off the bat.

This! So much this! I wrote a lot of /feedback on PTS about this. Why don't they understand the basic concept of rewarding players? So flipping frustrating! We shouldn't have to explain this...but we do, and still are ignored.

    No.
I just turned level 20 yesterday, and for now, I decided to skip the dailies.
Why? Because I need the materials myself.

I have a hard time finding flax, for I cannot visually distinguish the smallish blue plant from its surroundings and am completely dependent on my mouse-pointer telling me when I passed such a plant.

For the moment, these resources are needed to further enhance my gear.

I know of the passive ability that will make the plant glow, especially at night.

I started out doing the daily crafting writes, but at level 50 in all the crafting skills, the rewards are just not worth the time or resources I spend doing them. I could use that time farming for dwemer books and mats instead.

Crafting writs - only in crafts where I'm still leveling. In general, the rewards just aren't worth the effort.
Undaunted - As with every other game with adventuring dailies...I'll do these a few times until the novelty wears off.

I like dailies in general. Yes, of course they are just an relatively easy way to keep players busy, but I don't mind that if I feel that they are fun and rewarding.
Right now, have fun doing the dailies and even though it's a bit early to really tell how I will like them on the long run, I am looking forward to them and will try to complete them whenever I got time for them.

I do not believe like the OP that the dailys "force" people, infact, it gives them something to do, I prob wont do it every day, but now atleast I'm able to redo dungeons with the scaling, without its it would have been stupidly easy, ty zos for finally moving in the right direction

OK, I have done two of the Enchanting Writs. My Enchanter is at L42 almost L43 (when he started these) and was at L44 when he finished. Note, there was some deconstruction of items from a Dungeon farm in the middle of this, so most of the insp points came from that.

So, first writ has me find an L8 Potency Rune, did not have any and was not finding them in the world. But I found a Guild Vendor selling stacks of 10 for 500G, so I bought two stacks. It asked me to make a Monumental Glyph, which gave me some decent Inspiration as I learned a new Rune. Turned in the items to the chest, which required me to go to Craglorn I might add and got my Urn. The stuff in the Urn was meh. 3 Grand Soul Gems and a White Glyph.

However the 20000 points in Inspiration was well worth the effort for the small amount of Wayshrine Bouncing I did to make this happen. The second quest was much the same, only I had to walk about 50 steps to complete it and got my 20000 points for that. This one gained me a Green Glyph and one Soul Gem. I also got 377 Gold for each quest.

So, to sum up, the loot rewards are not really worth it, the inspiration rewards are.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well the dungeons are an benefit as it generates more dungeon runs and I know I will do more of them.
Crafting not so much, alchemy is the real interesting and its bugged.
Might do the others if bored and have too much materials.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I think they are a great way of levelling alts as a variation of the decon game.

I did them on my main on Tuesday, and it took me a while to find mats, as I had recently vendored all my voidsteel. But by the end of the 5 writs (I had skipped Alchemy as I heard it was bugged), I had a fair amout of gold and a low level blue recipe.

So it's fun, but if I decided I'm doing them every day on 4 toons, I would do nothing else.

Same thing with the Undaunted pledges. The Vet one in particular can take a while.
