Wow, this resto staff is FUN!

To date, my brave Nord Dragonknight has always used a two-handed sword. I've not had any experience before with a ranged weapon of any kind. But after starting Caldwell's Silver, and seeing a lot of people in PvP support roles using a resto staff, I decided to start using one and building up the skill line.

Wow, this thing is fun! Just hold down the button (or, in my case, the trigger) and it channels a nice attack that you barely have to even aim. Very nice! Can't seem to get any of the healing skills to work though (do you have to be formally grouped with someone for them to count as an ally or something?).

Anyway, I really do enjoy this new toy. Anyone who hasn't tried it out should (maybe I'll try out a bow next).

It's also WAY easier than my traditional attack routine of spamming "Immovable--Light Attack--Scream 'My Sister Has Cancer!' To Startle Enemy--Run--Attack With Sneak Attack When Enemy Turns His Back--Heavy Attack--Urinate Myself When Enemy Counterattacks--Run And Hide Until Some Other Player Comes Along--Wait Until Other Player Has Them Down To Almost No Health--Light Attack--BRAVE NORD VICTORY!!!"

LOL!! It's very similar to my pvp experience sometimes.

Every weapon in the game except the two-handed sword and the resto staff are WONDERFUL. But not those two. They suck.

Exactly right. Meaning that no later than 1.6 we can expect Resto Staff to become ruined of its advantages.

All of the resto heals work on yourself first. You don't have to be in a group or anything. If there are other players around you with really low health, then your resto abilities will heal them as well.

I loled! Do you have another 3 mates to use resto together? That would be so much fun!

Nerf resto staves! Too much healing. Who wants to have long, glorious battles anyway?

As a NightBlade, there is no way I could solo world bosses without a resto staff. In fact, my resto staff (healing ward specifically) is absolutely critical to my survival.

Also, having a resto staff has another SUPER important function. When you press and hold your attack button to do a heavy attack, if you invested in the Cycle of Life passive, you restore 30% of your magika.

    From the resto staff line:

    Grand Healing:
Press the skill slot and a yellow circle will appear on the ground (must be within range) then press your standard light/attack to activate.

Can be used to heal groups of players in area of effect. Can also heal your self if your in the circle.

    Regeneration:
Just press the skill slot. It will apply the hp regen to you and two of the lowest hp players near you.

those are the bread and butter skills, no need to be grouped.

I'm just imagining the picture, a Nord DK with a restoration staff, awesome^^
I can't do much PvP (because of the fps), but when I did and used the resto staff, I felt even more "in danger" since the enemies know immediately where it comes from, because of that beam. Definitely not a stealth weapon xd

I'm also a big fan of the resto staff. My sorc - with pets out - has solo'ed a few same level world bosses naked with a resto staff.

I did experience trouble with some new players in one dungeon run because they didn't understand how the heals worked. Or even that they should be blocking and getting out of red attack areas.

Had to demo and explain all the heals then we were fine.

It doesn't heal players immediately. It applies an area effect which pulse heals players inside it for 3 (or 4 with one morph) seconds. If a player moves outside the area then they stop getting healed.

It only heals the two lowest hp players. One of them can be yourself.
