Please Change Hireling Delivery System

In the real world, if I am not home the mailman does not keep my delivery until I return. He shoves it in the box like he is hired to do. If I am still not home the next time he makes a delivery he just keeps shoving deliveries it in the box like he is hired to do and so on. How hard is this concept for the ESO hirelings system. Managing one delivery a day a simple enough. Managing two requires timing, and it is easy to mess it up to where you effectively get only one delivery a day (depending on your job, play schedule, etc.). Managing three requires you to either be unemployed so you can check your mail three times a day, or have ESO installed on your computer at work so you can check your mail three times a day. Please change the system so the hirelings leave your deliveries no matter what. What is wrong with them stacking? If we are spending skill points on this, then it should work to our benefit. Thank you.

    Yes please!

And while we're at it, since we spent 3 skill points on them per craft so 15 across the board, can we also make it so they bring minimum purple stuff to a master crafter!?

    Thanks

Up to 4 mails per character, 8 characters per account, times however many accounts. That could end up bogging down the mail system after a while, especially if they kept being delivered to people who aren't even subscribed anymore.

That is likely the reason for them not just stacking infinitely.

However, I do wish that we could have a mail sitting in our inbox regardless of whether we were on to collect it right then, and then have one that could still have the timer counting down. That way if I collect at 8 am one day, and then not until noon the next, I could have collected the one that was put into my mailbox at 8, and the timer wouldn't get reset to noon.

Be careful what you ask for. Having hireling mailed delivered like you are asking is way too complicated for these developers to handle properly. They would break the game for months if they tried to implement something like this.

I think there are ways of implementing this so that the email accumulation would not be a problem.

For ex, one way to be considered it is to deliver the email only when the player is logged in, as today. The difference would be that the system would make the difference between current date (sysdate) and the date of the last delivery and then call the random generator function for a number of times corresponding to the days for which the mats should be delivered. When the generation is finished, all the mats are consolidated in stacks and delivered in emails using all 6 email slots.

This way the number of emails that need to be sent will be significantly reduced, while fixing in the same time the current stupid system in place.

Now, the correct question is: is ZOS really interested in fixing the game? The players are complaining for a long time about all the stupid things and broken mechanics in the game and there is little done to fix them unless they are PvP related.

I think hirelings already give enough good materials. If you're not happy, get more of them on alts to improve your chances.

The thing that bugs me is the confirmation to delete the mails though.
    5 professions x 8 characters x 2 deliveries a day = 80 mails / day.
I'm a bit tired of bashing E-X-E to open, delete and confirm.

    E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X-E-X.

    The easy solution is this:

Set a limit on how many hireling emails you can get. So, one days worth or two or whatever. Anything over that is dropped or not sent. There are already limits on how many emails you can get, I think, I don't get enough to hit it.

Then, the second thing that would resolve the L3 issue entirely is, just double the amount of stuff that the L2 would give us. That along with the factor that increases the chance of getting better tempers would solve this. People could log in once a day and get their stuff no matter what level their hireling is.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Personally, I would like guys to run up to me when I get in game to deliver the items to me. The whole delivery-by-mail seems weird to me. I think the mail system should be reserved for "out-of-game" correspondence with other characters. There shouldn't be an in-game mechanic that involves the mailbox.

It would be like getting missions through the mail system... and that would be weird.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
