Rolling a NB w/bow ... Just wanna get ur favorite combos or some insight taking on mobs of 3.. I'm guessing magnum shot is gonna play a big role in keeping foes back.
Heh, most 3 mobs have a wanderer that will move outside the aggro range of the other two. I wait for that, take him out, then I only have to two to deal with.
Otherwise I use a Stick (Drain Power, Elemental Wall, Impulse, Path of Darkness)
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"
If I were to use the Bow exclusively, I would abuse Agony that stuns a target for 12 seconds if ignored.
Mark Target (mob1), Snipe (mob1), Agony (mob2), Poison Arrow (mob1) til dead. If the Snipe was enough to kill mob1, then poison Arrow the crap out of mob3.
The other common option is to have your second bar be Dual Wield. You can pretty much one shot most mobs with a sneak attack (similar to using Snipe) and you're down to two mobs.
Remember there is a stun at the end of Magnum Shot. So Magnum shot one mob and leave him alone. Actively kill the other, use magnum shot on this one too if needed. When the CC'd mob comes out of stun and starts moving to you, Magnum shot again.
Casters and archers are priority since they don't have to travel to attack you.
If you cannot one shot a mob or if it's more than three mobs I recommend Bombard to assist in your CC. Bombard is awesome for large groups of melee NPCs.
First, if they are daedra, ghosts, skellies, vamps etc. Basically any undead, having camo hunter on your bar is always going to make a massive difference and the other must have is silver shards, you want that to be on your bar. Just from the stun and knockdown alone it's a good thing, plus the amount of damage it does. You can knock down an undead then use heavy attacks (builds stamina back up) on them till they are dead. But I'm talking undead here.
Note: If you have been levelling up your fighters guild skill lines, flawless dawnbreaker is what you want to have on your bar as your Ultimate. At that skill's highest level, it'll give you 13% more damage.
With regular mobs, it's something like this. Firstly, use sneak or cloak so you can get behind your target, you always do more damage when you hit someone in the back. And if you see your mob of three, (and providing there isn't a healer among them) your first target in a mob should always be the guy with their back turned to you, not the guy looking in your general direction.
Out of stealth, snipe (I prefer lethal morph) and as it's through the air, use mark target so by the time snipe hits, your target is marked. Shreds your opponent down to nothing that way that way. Usually they go boom just on that, if not you can almost three hit the target using snipe, mark, and a heavy. And before you attack the mob of 3, make sure you target the healer first and dispatch them before you tackle anyone else. No point whittle them down only to have the healer in the mob sprinkle fairy dust on them and have your mob back at full health.
This is as it stands right now, you can three hit using snipe, but with 1.5 going live you won't be able to three hit your target anymore, and attacks from stealth are getting a nerf too to add insult to injury. Snipe is getting a buff, in real terms as it's time is being reduced by 40% BUT that's stopping you being able to three hit your targets, so what looks like a buff on paper, is actually a nerf with that playstyle.
Good thing poison injection is having a buff, it'll now be 30% stronger and poison inejection (morph) will now start doing extra damage on your targets early, at 50% of their health and not the 35% that is is currently. Also, poison arrow while not critting properly in 1.5 will be in 1.51
Anyway, back to your mob. Hit cloak then fire off a heavy again, bigger damage to be had on that. And if they are magic users, use venom arrow. It stops a caster in their tracks, you can just spam that bad boy till they die.
Keeping your opponents at range is what you want to do at all costs, so using the bow knockback skill hand in hand with venom is a good thing.
If it's a solo dungeon your in, getting skyshards and the like and you are finally up to the boss, again make sure you cloak, stealth in behind them, or as close to that as possible. You don't want to take a boss head on with a bow, you want to tear them down quickly and efficiently.
Bow users need to be quick thinkers, and efficient at what they do.
If you are going to use bow, make sure you are using armour sets that give you weapon damage, that and weapon damage glyphs on your jewelry. Getting your weapon damage into soft cap is what you are aiming for, beware though. A stamina heavy and weapon damage heavy build is very much a glass cannon. While you can take out targets from a safe distance, you'll be squishy when things get up close and personal, DK's love munching on bow using NB's.
I got through pretty much every solo dungeon this way. I'm probably telling you how to suck egg's, but I hope this helps you or someone else that bothers to read it.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...
