Ezareth "Storm King" V14 Emperor 1vX PvP Video

This is a video showcasing my particular playstyle as Emperor of Haderus NA. It pays homage to one of my first videos of when I played an Elemental Shaman in WoW.

No Impulse spam, bats or other zerg fighting AoE tactics, just a pure single target build designed to harass the enemy from all sides and force them to dedicate a large portion of their force to neutralize me.

This isn't a skill showcase video as I'm Emperor and most of the people I'm fighting have little chance to kill me although some of the players I fight are skilled at their class. As we all know there is no Emperor in this game who can take on 3 excellent players solo and win. The emperor buffs, while powerful, are finite and only really make you a more powerful version of yourself and you are still vulnerable to whatever you're vulnerable to while not emp.

I have a bunch of footage of me negate-spamming and wiping raids as they attempt to take keeps from me but since there were always other players there doing damage along with me I decided to pull the footage so as to keep it interesting.

All in all I've spent far too much time compiling hours of this kind of footage and finally decided to just pick 20 minutes of some varied fights to give people an idea of what it looks like wearing my "shoes" ( =

Nice video. Looks like a lot of fun as emp. Tough for me to see without HD version yet but looks like you aren't critting all that much. Do you use Inner Light mostly for the stealth detection or do you feel that it adds a significant amount of crits?

Yeah I'm critting a ton in my video. The 1080p is up now.

I use Inner light mainly for NBs. Since I rarely run out of magicka (or Bolt Escape Juice as is more accurate while emp) I swap out Dark Exchange for inner light on my second bar.

I'll also use inner light to boost a fragment proc like when you get some *** vampire like Mr. Poo trying to get all mistform on you. Tab Target Twilight-lover. Toggle inner light until you get a fragment proc (or spam mages fury on them while they're misted), and let fly at about 3.5 seconds depending on your distance and it should hit them just as they're out of mistform before they can get back in, and if they're already low your mages fury proc usually finishes them. Boosts are also good for meteoring dirty vampires and even your first power overload.

My Power poverload as emp will crit vampires for a bit over 1600 and most of them die so fast I never run out of ultimate.

Great play ez. Oh, the joy to be emp. I wish I could put in the hours to get there.

I liked the fight against the DK at 13:25. I think there were a couple of times when you could have kept the pressure on a bit better with Curse and I don't even know what he was trying to do with Cinder Storm on a Sorc but it was enjoyable. Although he was always going to run out of resources faster I suppose.

I also like the "traversing the rocks" movement around 8:45. That's good sorc play.

I find that playing solo as a Sorc is far more satisfying than being part of a group. In a group you're on Negate duty and you feel you have to get your ult up as quickly as possible to help the group. Thus you're forced down the AoE path with crit surge and Impulse or Wall of Elements. You can do a crap-ton of damage, but it's less satisfying and your mobility is restricted to that of the group as you have to be close to them.

Please don't misunderstand. I found this an impressive display, yet I wonder why you chose as the opening theme a culture that defined close teamwork in combat in a manner so compelling that, obviously, they're still retelling the tale thousands of years hence.

Really impressive. Top 3 video in my opinion if not the best. I liked the reference to 300. Let us not get fooled by the popular movie depicting Spartan culture. The movie is fantasy and it is about war, heroism and legends. Product of Frank Miller.

Interesting critique on the video. In my opinion it does fit though. In the first clip, it shows the boy going through training to become a warrior. Training that he must complete on his own. In the second clip he's the king.

nice video - seeing this armor in HD was nice :P I won't comment on the build used as it is common and/or the fights as you are emperor. But it was fun to watch (being emperor must be fun indeed).

BTW : the amount of AP you get as emperor is crazy.

Yeah he was the above referenced DK. I think he was probably stalling for his buddies to come back, those 3 and a few others chased me across half the map, I had to cut that part out as there were few kills and too much cardio for enjoyment.

I love using terrain and the power of Bolt Escape to my advantage and I'm a pretty good judge of exactly where I'll land with a bolt escape (I'd hope so considering the million or so times I've probably cast it).

I love direct damage over AoE. Killing someone with AoE just seems impersonal. When I kill someone in the game, they know it was me targeting them and not just failure on their part for standing in impulse, bats, or banner.

It is an fun and effective harassing playstyle and you won't find a more mobile one but I won't wipe a raid by myself without a ton of NPCs or other players to do the damage.

It was mainly to illustrate the strategy used by the boy to kill the wolf...I use something similar except my wolves come in packs and at the end as noted, the boy becomes king.

Yeah the armor looks great except for the helm and the "Baboon arse" you get when riding a horse.

You'd be surprised, I didn't earn too much more AP as Emp than I do as a regular player. Single target damage and no group will get you a ton of AP if you're effective at it.

AD zone chat is hilarious. The part about "let them take it, when they take everything and leave we will recapture it" is the best lol. sums up haderus nicely.

I actually enjoy the editing of Ezareths video's. Not so much the music but to each his own.

I dont unfortunately have an AD alt. But I know EP/DC zone is hilarious, glad to see AD didnt disappoint.

the zone chat of wabbajack was pretty hysterical at times. it was mostly arm chair wannabe generals arguing about senseless nonsense.

One fight with LoM during which everyone is either trolling me or drunk. I'm disappointed I don't see better game play against the legion. I did enjoy the slaughtering of red though. Very well played..

Why did you have to make this video? I was quite content thinking you were just a bolt escaping coward to be swatted away like a mossie only to come back later, now I see that you put effort into your fights and should keep an eye out for, especially since us support types would be prime targets for your build. At 18:30 I feel sorry for that guy sneaking up, you bolted behind him bringing EP on top of him lol

Yeah I've long tuned out that isn't aqua colored in my chat log. After reading all the commentary I went back and read it and there was some hilarious moments captured there.

I have difficulty balancing good music with gameplay footage that includes sound. To me It usually leaves anything with voice in it out with some exceptions. Most of my instrumental music is too slow paced for a video like this so this was the best I had of the upbeat stuff that I hadn't used in my first video.

The editing looked far better during the pre-rendered views. It took some time and hand editing frame by frame to get everything to look natural during my opening frontal shot and then after I rendered it all got out of sync and distorted, especially the "Storm King" lettering. I also had to do some audio smoothing to avoid the "tiny" sound that is created when slowing down the video. Not great work but passable for my first time playing around with some of the more advanced effects in Sony Movie Studio.

Yeah knowing who to target is important in 1vXs. Healers absolutely have to die first, and then high DPS low survivability targets and lastly you kill those *** with wings.

If I'm bolt escaping away it is because I recognize I'm dead if I don't but I rarely if every will just completely disengage from my targets unless there is something of strategic importance that requires I do so. I generally have a good feel for when engaging existing targets if I have a chance of success, if I don't have a chance then I don't engage but I will continue to build ultimate and harass until an opening is presented. I know it has to be frustrating chasing me but with single target damage and no active heals I can use in combat my build has to operate in a hit and run fashion. I abuse the hell out of the mobility afforded by bolt escape just like a DK abuses reflective scales and superior front line survivability.
