Alliance War Skill Morphs, Need Actual Choice?

I did a reset of skills the other day and while putting points back into my Alliance War skills I noticed something, I did the same as I always do.

War Horn - Sturdy Horn
Rapid Maneuver - Retreating Manruver
Caltrops - Razor Caltrops

Barrier - Replenishing Barrier
Siege Shield - Siege Weapon Shield
Purge - Efficient Purge

The choices in the morps for the skills really don't seem a choice, most if not all have options which are just outright better than the other, Caltrops being the worse offender of them all.

Anyone else feel that these skills could really do with some ZOS love even as far as going back and making the alternate morph something different entirely? Making players feel that there is a choice to be made when morphing these skills.

I recently tried out propelling shield, and it's op as f*** from what if experienced so far. +7 range while sieging is just too strong.

Just imagine frags flying towards you from 50m range (38+7+5) or snipes from even further away.

Yeah I have been tempted to try that morph as siege shields are so rarely used any way (and worthless under focused fire).

I think the War Horn has a little choice to it but Rapid Manouver, Caltrops and Purge all seem very one sided choices to me. Although the alternate Purge morph is getting a small buff in 1.5 IIRC.

Mostly agree, except for the two already mentioned: Propelling Shield (Bow user here, but have been bow/dw on my nightblade from day one of early access - no FOTM though I enjoy it while it lasts) and Aggressive Horn.

I see some merit in the other morphs in some cases, though. As mentioned elsewhere, Charging Maneuvre can give an impressive boost for certain play styles and Cleanse can be used very well in a group environment (a.k.a. blob) for refilling the Zerg HP after an oil shower. Have most running efficient purge for the brunt of debuff removal and some run cleanse for insta-refill. Good for storming those pesky flag defenders.

Will be less useful in future, though, due to oil change.

And it will be even better if they manage to mess up the new "Zerg-Bomb" skill (and make it purgeable).

For open field blob-vs-blob I guess that cleanse is the difference between win and lose, though, especially against fire ring and the burning dot.

Even so a majority of people tend to go with Efficient Purge because it's easier to keep using it and fight through/in siege effects than to burn magicka too fast.
This has been my experience at least, though I wouldn't dare say I know fully what's better.
