We killed the serpent twice today. That is to say, he reached zero health, and then instantly 1 shot the raid. Why?

No information of value in death recap other than "poison mist" - not a 1 shot at any other point in the fight. No information given in voice ingame, no information given in the little notes hidden around.

There is no way to know why he would do this, there is no way to analyze why he did it, and there is no reason to ever design a fight this way.

This is so infuriating- I'm sure there is some gimmick workaround, as other guilds have completed the fight on the leaderboard. But, why? Why would you design it like this, with no information? There is no logical justification.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of the problems in the serpent raid- artificial difficulty of 36 lives, complete RNG of bubbles with players virtually guarenteed to have deaths every time (Again, why would you do this!?) - Achievements for finishing the raid in 33 minutes which is virtually impossible, and I don't know who on planet earth you expect to wade through the horrible frustration to do the hardmode version.

This is pure design failure. I have been one of the most prolific, dedicated players in this game since day 1. I have 4 V14's, over 30 days played on 3 different characters (totaling over 90 days played) - And this kind of thing makes me seriously consider quitting the game and unsubbing.

Solutions: Either 1) Design fights that actually make intuitive sense.

2) UNLOCK THE API ALREADY SO WE CAN SEE COMBAT LOG AND ANALYZE FIGHTS

-or-

3) End game raiding in this game WILL DIE.

P.S. Feel free to flame, click "LoL" and say anything you want. Guess what? When you get to this point in the game, you are going to want it to work. And you know why it's going to work? Because someone before you was loud and angry enough to get it fixed.

    This is funny, but I will comment before this gets locked like the first thread. It sounds like its a bug. However, if it is some other kind of mechanic, then I kind of see where you are coming from. I don't like boss fights with mechanics such as DPS race - inflict as much damage as possible in this small window of time or else boss will nuke your whole party *looks at AA trial boss fight*. There should be less emphasis on min/maxing (DPS races) and more on player skill and gameplay mechanics.

    It is better to use InGame, the function / bug or / feedback.
    I do not believe that any dev read the forums.

    I always use the functions and hope the infos comes to the devs.

    Well they locked it apparently because the post wasn't "constructive". In my opinion his post is very contructive. It's good commentary on what is wrong with a relatively new raid. If the devs are wise, they would listen to posts like this, because Zb is right, if things like this don't change, players will quit. He's just a little angry, which I can understand after basically beating the hardest raid in the game twice only for the entire raid to get one shot for no good reason.

    The devs do read the forums and the community managers as well. This happened twice today, so it was rather disappointing.

    We have been telling them the things that are "disappointing" for months. What the dev's have made extremely clear, more than anything else, is that they will only fix their own product when motivated. And the only way we have successfully motivated them at any point, is through a swift kick and thousands of angry voices.

    Its not bugged.

    His 0% poison is way stronger than the other ones. Many guilds on both NA and EU completed it, and the encounter is not bugged in any way.

    You should dust off thed defeatism, and try again. And again. Until you will learn how to use inc damage reducing spells.

    I never claimed it was bugged. I claimed it was poorly designed.

    Our entire raid died within 1 - 1.5 seconds AFTER he was at 0%. OK, so you say it is stronger when he hits 0%... Why? Why would you design a fight that once you kill the boss, he 1 shots your entire raid until you know the gimmick? Because, that's what you are describing, a gimmick.

    I don't doubt that it is possible, obviously it has been done. My point is, WHY would you design it this way? Do you feel as a gamer, that this mechanic makes sense to you? This is not defeatism. This is frustration with poor design. I am not interested in raid completion being centered upon finding uncommunicated, illogical, unpredictable gimmicks. That is what I would refer to as artificial difficulty.

    I appreciate your experience and feedback, but I think you may have missed the core point.
