The few groups that allow you in w/o achievement usually fail, so that's no use

Getting into any kind of end game content requires dedication. If you really want to get into it, do as many runs as possible. Leave groups that fail horribly so you don't loose too much time, make your own group asking for achievement and see if someone wants to lead, look at videos, look for viable builds. You can also try to get into some raiding guilds that might take you but then again, you need to be there during raiding time and wait for them to ask in chat, etc etc etc.

Nobody held our hand and back when we started we didn't even have the good easy-mode strategies we have now.

Gotta work for it and it won't be easy at first. When we begun none of us had the achievement and yet we managed to clear the instance eventually, shouldn't be different for you.

Also just a tip if you're having troubles getting your foot in the door of a group but have a good idea of what to do in the trial, alot of groups will say LFM link your Achievement, you can right click on the achievement and repost. Not the best way to get in but I've seen it work.

Issue with trials is there is dps checks, required ultimates and skills and most importantly awareness levels required and if you're not willing to take advice and or adjust from your build to be able to complete then there is really no point.

You don't have to be in an elitist hardcore pve guild to do trials.
I'm not and I'm doing them on a regular basis.

Our guild can usually field about 5-6 people who are willing to go. So we looked for another guild in the same situation ... now we join up and have no problem completing them. And we're far from elitist.

Also, I don't get the whining about having to be stick/dress or whatever fotm.
As long as you get your dps around 700 you're good to go, even if you smack the mob with a fish. If the fish hits 700 dps ... you're golden.

I once saw someone in Craglorn zone chat saying something like: "LFM AA 6 dps, sorcerers only". It looked kind of sad.

That is a bit sad ... you kinda need 3 sorcerors for AA, or 2 if your damage is high enough to not need a 3rd negate on the whateverhescalledboss.
They would've been better off with more NB's or DK's :)

Just join a guild that does trials. My guild trains new members regularly. We have no problem taking a guild member without achievement but we do require one from outsiders if we a short one trialist. The problem is that there is weekly reward for getting in the top 100. All rewards are a legendary set item. People need really good times to get into top 100. Last week you could not get it if group had more than 1 death in AA. We barely made it this time and time requieement is getting harder each week because hardcore players run the dungeon 5 times with alts to get most rewards. One player can take up lot of rewards slots with thise alts. I hope zos fixes this at somepoint by putting a limit - the best trial time on ACCOUNT counts, not character so only one reward for each account

It's impossible to complete if you don't have a big guild!

yup, trials for the elite powergamers only, or the very lucky to be able to catch on a group that is desperate.

I know a few people that will go on training runs. But those involved burning tons of soul gems and potions.

I've given up on them. No thanks

Our guild is a pretty experienced trial guild, we do runs to help newcomers, only thing we ask is to be prepared to listen and learn. For the high end speed runs, of course you will be required min/max everything.

And we run with 1 sorc at times (even though he is an OP sorc), its all that is needed for AA (no matter the dps of your group).

Everyone wants to group with elite players but relatively few people don't mind grouping with new players.

It's not just sad, it's stupid. Sorcs are on the lower scale of DPS, DPS DKs and NBs do a lot better. Any group bringing more than 2-3 sorcs is gimping themselves.

Not really, at all. I am in a guild which is so casual it hurts yet we do trials and clear stuff. Of course progress is not exactly... awesome, not achieving the first world records at all... but if you can deal with it, then...
