I want to quest with a friend, but it just doesn't feel right in this game. We're usually better served just clearing out delves and world bosses. I don't want to say it's a big negative, because the alternative might be run-of-the-mill kill 30 or loot 30 of some garbage in other MMOs.
For all its problems in this dept, I'd still rather stick by and hope they improve grouping down the road.
Always alone. My grouping preferences are strictly for PvP and end game raid style PvE content. Historically, in every MMO that I've ever played, I've skipped the group only content until that time. And yes, if that meant I couldn't continue playing the game I quit it entirely. Group questing is not an option for me.
I do quests alone because I can do it at my own pace and more importantly: I feel that the success I reap is a success I myself accomplish. There is no debate about who carried whom.
It is so satisfying to my person, and I don't mind the encroaching silence of being alone. That way, when I do group, I enjoy it immensely when I tag along with one or two people.
I'll occasionally quest with guildies or people I know IRL, and I'll fall in with an impromptu group when it's handy but 90% of the time, I'm questing solo. Why bother setting up a group when it takes twice as long as doing it solo?
And as others have mentioned, I like to take my time.
For the regular zones and story quest line, I prefer questing alone. I'm not opposed to grouping with someone, but it's difficult to align unless it's someone you know and they just happen to be at the same place. This content is fun to solo, has a good difficulty level and you can just go at your own pace.
I'm glad there is a emphasis on group questing in certain areas of the game, because so much of it can be done solo already.
I prefer to quest in a group (for whatever reason)
Really need a third option as it really does depend on my mood. Sometimes I want to be social and do group stuff, and sometimes I just want to do my own thing.
I did the 1-50 zones solo and am going through cadwell's thing on my own too, but this is more out of necessity as even being in a guild with others, it's rare to be at the same stage.
But I did one of the craglorn quests in a group and enjoyed it so I can see that I would have enjoyed doing more quests prior to craglorn in a group if the opportunity arose.

Since group questing isn't really wanted by aunt ZOS, I actually am questing alone most of the time. But I actually prefer questing in groups and take every chance to do so.

If I've ever offended you,
just know that from the bottom of my heart,
I really don't give a ***.
Questing in a group is really not much fun, you go at your own pace, you can get "off the path" anytime you want and if you are up for some immersion during quests, then that is also a pint for alone.
Frankly, it's like reading one book in a group. You'll rarely find 1-3 other people who read at the exact same pace as you and like the same books - and if you do, then they are unlikely to be able to read at the same time as you most of the time :P
I prefer to quest alone. Questing in groups you really need voice, and I'm afraid my poor knowledge of the lore and bad voice acting will break the immersion for my teammates.......
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!
Alone, especially in a game where the grouping tools are as good as those in the late 90's MMOs and especially in a game abusing of phasing and instancing.
If I have friends on we quest together, but we're all on the same page that we want to listen to the NPCs, and poke around the areas for neat stuff, and just generally take our time; it's not like reinforcements are needed, the questing is already so easy that having more people means the combat just becomes completely trivial.
The op should have provided the choice of both, for that's what I would have picked. Love'em both.
There is a challenge with grouping, however. The difficulty boils down to two factors: communication and coordination. Unless you have voice chat, it's really tough to gain that sense of camaraderie that makes grouping so compelling (unless you're a fast typer). Though I love grouping, I do get that feeling of being rushed through the content when others are moving on through the rest of the quest at a fast pace. I believe a way to fix that is to implement a voice-over on the dialogue trees that everyone in the group would hear at the same time, rather than the private NPC instance that we have now. Perhaps some thoughtful player in the group be designated a "Lore-Keeper" who has the responsibility for clicking on the responses to the quest-giver. Only when the "Lore-Keeper" has concluded the dialogue, can the quest continue.
This poll indicates why the 4 man quest zones are PURE FAIL. Get a clue ZOS.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough. Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
Disable abilities while holding block. Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil. Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil. Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds. Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.
I prefer to quest in a group (for whatever reason)
in games, I want to quest in a group. In ESO, I don't because the system is so goofy. Problems are
WAY TOO many quests that take a few minutes to complete
Rewards are way too small, even for tough group quests
Tough group quests are way too hard
No reward for doing a quest multiple times. (If I could get XP for doing a quest multiple times, I would join more friends in doing them - Cyrodiil doesn't count)
like many others here I prefer to quest alone. not because I would never quest with another player, but rather because there is so much variation in playstyles and time constraints.
however, I do love doing group content. normally most guys are rdy to play and sit down for the time its going to take to finish out a group dungeon... but in normal missions its constantly, one dude's wife/gf or the other is interrupting (including my own wife and kids lol), someone needs to take a 10 mins cig break, another person just mysterious logs (sometimes a crash sometimes people just check out), another time its the dogs/cats/bla bla bla. Too much for me and my own limited game time.

To make ESO look and feel like a PC MMO check out the following:
I prefer to quest in a group (for whatever reason)
I just prefer grouping, because if I get bored, I have someone to interact with.
Most of the time I find the story line boring, and that really puts a down on me.
Good to know that when I enter a delve, I have 3 others to help back me up (imo)
To add to my previous post, I've always wanted to be able to have my friends jump in any time and quest with me in an Elder Scrolls game. Going on epic adventures with good friends is awesome. However, I don't like being limited to ONLY being able to do quests in groups. Also, it's too bad all of my friends stopped playing (due to all the game issues, having to pay a subscription, or just getting bored). That's one reason I don't have much interest in completing Craglorn and the other group stuff. Teaming up with strangers isn't as fun.
I prefer to quest in a group (for whatever reason)
In general I like questing in pairs/small groups. In this game I quest alone most of the time simply because the phasing and inability to get into quests halfway through make group question really difficult. It's kind of sad because I play MMOs for the social part of the game. If I wanted to play solo I'd just play Skyrim.
Foräois - Imperial Sorcerer of Ineptitude.
Widoch - Nord Dragon Knight of Ignorance.
Billy Bob - Dunmer Templar of Chicken and Noodles. Blades of Vengeance
I prefer questing alone and I love grouping for some content but I hate when grouping take something big as an entire zone ...
Hopefully this time the story was "meh" so it wasn't really annoying to take 200 000 years to do it. But I'll really be upset the day they make another group zone, with a cool story this time, and that it will take 200 000 years to do because everyone will do grind or somethings like that (I know it's not players fault, it's ZOS that failed the zone by giving 2xp and green items in quests).
As always, sorry if some of my sentences are really strange and weird, and that your eyes melt when reading them. I'm french.
Questing alone gets you more attached to the actual storyline in my opinion whereas with groups of friends we usually just want to rush the quest to finish it and move onto the next one.
