Vampire ultimates doing 1300 dmg.

On paper there is nothing that shows they even have the capacity to hit so hard.

ie esohead 2600 magicka 130 spellpower lists devouring swarm as doing 261 dmg every second for 6 seconds.

reality is you see vampires in cyro running through groups hitting people for 1300.

How's that work exactly?

1300 damage over 6 seconds, its not 1300 each second.

    Another PVP crybaby ???

My Soul Strike does over 2500 damage and snares you too, would you like some of that instead ?

Why does it appear in log as 1300 damage?

Oh and why does it appear in log 1300 multiple times (mixed with pulsar spam)?

Because that's how Dots have always been shown in the death log.

The death recap is confusing, arguably to the point of being wrong at times. If you want a detailed recap of the damage, you should use an add-on that creates a battle log.

    Has zeni admitted this?

Because when you see the pvp vampire brigade show up it sure looks like they are hitting for that much.

Ya know, the dk vamps that ae everyone down somehow in 2 seconds.

Technically if you do the math they shouldn't be able to kill anyone with the tactic in less than 6 seconds with the impulse spam mixed in. It certainly doesn't take them half that, is there something making it do more damage?

Is devouring swarm even a dot?

    Just wondering.

Any suggestions for this? Currently using Recount but a lot of the time it just says UNKNOWN for the incoming damage, so I can see the numbers but not the ability names of stuff that I get hit with.

Pretty certain you can't solo wade into 20+ groups of players and use soul strike to leave a pile of corpses all while seemingly being nigh immune to damage.

rfennel you are a perfect explain of the unknowing playing against the knowing.

It has nothing to do with an ultimate or anything else for that matter. LEARN TO PLAY. You hear bats? Oh... just, run right through the middle of them.... don't ya know, maybe get a potion of stam ready incase you need to break-free of anything keeping you in place or roll dodge and sprint away. (sarcasm)

YOU SHOULD DO THOSE THINGS! DON'T STAND IN THE BATS AND COMPLAIN THAT THEY ARE HURTING YOU. And yes, the damage is cumulative. Also yes, those caps were necessary.

1300/6 = 217damage a second. It's just the way the death recap works.

If the vamp was invisible you were probably getting impulsed and batted at the same time. Vamps can attack you while invisible so you can't see what you are getting hit with.

The idea here is damage stacking. Forcing as much simultaneous damage per second to burst people down before they can heal/bubble. So if a vamp brigade jumps in you are going to get nuked quick.
