Guild - Officer chat permissions

Apologies if this is the wrong location, but I cannot for the life of me understand why some guild members can talk in guild officer chat and others cannot. I cannot find any permission that allows that to happen, or changes that.

My guild has several ranks, and the top four can talk/type in officer chat, but we're not sure where these permissions come from. There is a rank that we DO NOT want to see officer chat, but we don't know how to change that.

Is there a thread or article on this that I have missed?

From my understanding the check box for officer chat permission was removed when the guilds were taken down early in the game and never re-enabled when they were brought back up.
It would be very helpful though to have a check box to enable or disable officer chat permissions.
We have run into this issue ourselves in the guild i'm in.

The only thing I could find is that office chat is enabled for guildmaster and guildofficer when the guild is first made. Any ranks that are copied from these will have it enabled. Any ranks newly made or copied from another rank will not.
This one swears-by his life and his love of it-that this one will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for him.

I've created ranks from scratch with no copy and people have been able to see officer chat in those ranks.

Zos. Please fix this issue soon. All guilds are impacted by this.

I haven't tested thoroughly, but from my understanding if you add a rank and choose to copy the settings from a rank that does have officer permissions, then that new rank will also have officer chat permissions. Almost like the box is invisibly there and being carried over to the new rank.

Try removing the rank with that has the chat permissions you don't want, then recreate it by copying a lower rank. Modify the other permissions after the copy.

I don't want to say that will work 100% as I've only got a small sample size to take it from but it's worth a shot.

Semi related tangent here. I tried creating a rank with guild chat disabled but it didn't really disable it. The members were still able to chat just fine. I don't suppose too many have really tried it out yet, but the last time I checked a few months back, the guild chat permission didn't actually do anything if unchecked.

That's a lot of fandangling to do for larger guilds. I might be able to get off lucky because of the small amount of people, but I feel bad for larger guilds who have to do it this way.
