I don't like solo instances forced to scale up (from Update 5 PTS notes)

... Plus no MMO I've ever played has used forced scaling. I actually can't think of one that does (can't even think of one that uses scaling at all). If they exist I haven't played them. They've all used the traditional system of level-appropriate areas, ...

City of Heroes had some scaling both in instances and out in the open world.

Giant monsters for example everyone could gang up and attack - higher level ppl had more abilities and more powerful abilities and did do more -- just because the characters were more developed - but damaged scaled so the high level characters did not just own the encounter.

Players would level scale to the party leader allowing for cross level gaming.

Some bosses are challenging, yes. But the challenge is the game and that's what's fun. I soloed all 3 factions with a stamina based DW + bow, so it's not that hard.
i struggle to enjoy playing my sorcerer because everything is s face roll, even
Quests a few levels above mine. Not every one can find the game easy but c'mon, it's anything but hard. IMO scaling is good for challenge and replayability

Well... I've cleared a level 38 quest (I think) twice on level 16 characters, an Imperial Nightblade and an Imperial Sorc...

Actually, this makes me wonder if they'll drop the level for the two infection quests just to mess with the people who deliberately did them at low level.

They were 42 when I did it.

    Though I was 24 and 28 respectively.

IIRC, the quest itself is 38, the enemies are 42. It's... kinda weird, honestly.

I'd check, but I cleared it on my 12 the other day, and so I don't have it as an active quest on anyone anymore.

I have to agree with a lot of the people replying to this thread. Not all of us are able to devote enough time and energy to this game to have the most efficient character ever. I, personally, would have scaling on for the vast majority of the time, because I enjoy a challenge, but there are two reasons I would turn it off: to get that dungeon that no one is going to form a group to run with me; and to go through killing things.
First, I can't always play during peak hour, so there just isn't enough people playing to get a group together. I'm a completionist, it just niggles at me if I can't get that dungeon and therefore am unable to complete the area.
Second, I have a temper. Sometimes I just need to kill some pixels in order to not say something I'll regret later. Having a goal to work towards, say completing a dungeon, helps with that, from the sense of achievement. Getting killed without getting through the first room, like is happening now, does not help my temper. If I turn to another game for that outlet, I will probably end up playing that game in the time I spend currently on Elder Scrolls.
Also, I have epilepsy. Peak time, when you can find enough players of a similar level to group with you, produces lag. Can we say headaches and stress bring on seizures, even if you don't have the well known but not all that common flashing lights issue.
And no, I'm not going to stop being a gamer because I have epilepsy. If you cutout everyone who can't, for medical, financial, or social reasons devote that sort of time and energy, the game will die for lack of funds.
