I've never seen anyone use a button sarcastically except LOL. And I've definitely never understood "Awesome" or "Insightful" ratings on posts to be sarcastic, so if you're using them that way, kudos for doing the opposite of what you wanted to do.

No Nerevarine... don't worry yourself. I don't use them like that. But they will be open to abuse if you done away with LOL like they done away with disagree.

IMHO I think they should log disagrees given NOT disagrees received.
This way you can see immediately who the trollers and griefers are ;)

I always thought the "LOL" is the negative one. To show the poster how ridiculous, silly or whatever he is.

But the LOL-description opened my eyes: "You received 250 LOLs. Looks like you're popular around these parts."

I'd love to have a marker that shows my warnings and bans.
    If I've ever offended you,
just know that from the bottom of my heart,
    I really don't give a ***.

I have only ever used LOL as a way to show that I find a post funny. Because occasionally people are funny here. It really is meant to be a positive thing.

Simple solution on other forums was not to subtract award points for negative flags.
    Done.

Let's just say I disagree with those that disagree with a disagree flag. :p

Using LOL as a disagree is for the subliminal weaklings(The ones who dont have a voice so they use a button). If you disagree with a post state you disagree as well as a explanation as to why you do. Watch this get LOL's.

and Zeni please im not trolling or disrespecting anybody im stating what is actually happening please dont warn me :(

I am not in favor of a Disagree button for the same reasons that were stated here
    3. Why do people have such a hard time grasping that they don't deserve to have their disagreement heard if they can't provide an argument? If you disagree with someone, you need to state a reason. I'm not saying that it's "owed" to anyone. I'm not saying that you'll get in trouble if you don't. I, as a rational human being, am pointing out that refusing to explain your position on a discussion forum is utterly pointless.

I do, however, support some use of LOL as a negative indicator. This is not merely a "disagree" but something that falls well below that. There is really no good way to say that a comment is so monumentally stupid that it defies belief. I would prefer that people who cannot ignore this fact respond by tagging it LOL instead of actually replying and having two comments that are monumentally stupid.

Yeah. Imagine being in a conversation with someone and you just spent 5min explaining your belief and they say "oh well I disagree" and then walk off. I wouldn't even know what to call that. I certainly couldn't call it a conversation.

    Guy A. "Fire will burn"
    Guy B. "I disagree".
Guy A. "I agree" ..."good talk"
    Buy B. "Good talk".

Discussion is simply implied by the "General Discussion" title of these forums.

I personally use lol to say that the person is funny.

If I disagree I explain why, if their commen tis so silly that an explanation is pointless, well I just ignore them and move on to someone who can understand what I want to say.

Disagree buttons are for lazy little trolls who don't have the brains or inclination to actually make a stab at an argument. They can play the game all they like, but they don't belong on a discussion forum.

Ah yes worded like a true, intelligent, understanding, debating expert.

This is exactly why we DO need a disagree flag...to cut down on the slanderous, name calling, emotional imbalanced replies such as this one right here.

...this is ONLY a forum so kindly refrain from the over reacting please.

Well no matter how much you plead for a disagree button, it wont happen. Those buttons were deemed unneeded long ago and any forum want to be seen as a respectable forum wont have it. This forum is borderline enough for even having an LoL button. Let it go.
