Halloween Treat Request

Disclaimer: This thread is NOT to ask for a real world Halloween event or content. That said, Halloween is fun and I see nothing wrong with the idea of ZoS giving us a treat! :) I know it's way too late for you to do anything major regarding this Zos but here's something fun you COULD do as a "thank you" to us, your paying customers.

Place a special vendor in the starting zone of each Alliance. "Hide" them a little. Make us look for them! LOL This vendor, once found, should have, let's say, five costumes for the disguise slot that you can purchase for a low to moderate amount of gold. And MAYBE even a skeleton pet to follow us around. For extra fun you could even make the vendor a spooky ghost him or her self. Add a black cat to the pet purchase option and I'm your slave for life!

C'mon ZoS we KNOW your artists already have tons of ideas for stuff like this....give them a chance to show off a little. You can dooo eeeettt!

EDITING TO ADD:
I most emphatically DON'T WANT Halloween costumes! But more like:
1. A fancy, noble dress, costume.
2. Beggar's rags
3. Something a little risque and smexy (you know, for the Dibellan priesthood!)
4. A huntsman/woodsman outfit
5. A black hooded robe for spooky factor

All of these would fit in Tamriel and would be things players would want for all sorts of occasions.

They have Tales and Tallows day, which is sort of their version of Halloween, but they don't specifically celebrate Halloween in Tamriel. No pumpkins, costumes or sweets.

    Mages Guild loves it.

    Um, we know do we???

The main problem is that a Halloween theme would become prevalent, and anyone not wearing an outfit would be accussed of being a party pooper.

But if they hid the vendor well enough, and they were themed more towards Tamriel than Halloween, then they might be alright. But any pet skelton would have to be an Animal Skeleton (and not the Ice Wraith either).

PS. Not going to get into the whole "Halloween is not really about dressing up, it's supposed to be about honouring the dead" thing.
PPS Also not going to mention the whole skeleton horse thing that was done in certain parts of Wales at Halloween either, nope not going to mention that one.

Actually, you asking about it. And one more
As a few folks have already mentioned, we won't be conducting any Halloween celebrations in-game, as Halloween isn't a Tamrielic holiday. That being said, let us know if you're holding any in-game events of your own!

Would be nice to have some sort of festival. Most MMOs have something for Spring, Halloween and Xmas. Doesn't have to be about Halloween maybe about ghosts though as there seem to be more ghosts in Tamriel than living beings... :D

No Witches hats, no Wizard's hats, No broomsticks!.

Not bothered about colour, but orange has certain political implications in parts of Europe, I would avoid using it as an example.

If that is indeed the case and the spoilsport stance ZoS intends to take then they SHOULD start doing ACTUAL TAMRIEL holiday events instead. And it would just simply make sense to have them hit around the same time as our RL holidays.

I could go for those, well maybe not the beggar's rags, but nothing screams out as Holiday event. Heck I could even go for them as a permanent vendor wares. Maybe add a chef's outfit, for those of us who did the DB line in Skyrim (I loved the bit were you blagged your way through a recipe).

Ok, you say something simple and suggest costumes. Now if we think this little, costumes are not just throw some paint on. They need to be created to fit on top of the 3d model of all races so they don't clip. I think that's quite big job to just casually throw together.

In theory, yes. But what I'm BETTING is that there is very likely a backlog of cool stuff that fits most of my potential "costume" suggestions that they COULD give us. There are beggers dressed in rags already in just about every city. What about their "outfits?" There's already a cool necromancer-type robe disguise from the Bloodthorn Cultists you can get...but it's brown. Couldn't we get a BLACK one??? There are already existing "fancy" outfits worn by many noble NPCs one encounters. So recolor those, MAYBE make a few slight changes and...voila'! The Huntsman and scanty outfits are probably the only ones that MIGHT require a little work and yet I am confident that there are already armor/clothing models in existence that could be used quite effectively as the basis for them. So yeah, it's really NOT all that much work. Indeed, it is minimal effort for maximum customer appreciation as most of us would be incredibly delighted by such a wonderful gesture on ZoS's part.

Alas, it looks like they are determined to remain stingy ...insert censored word here.

What Zenimax should add is a Daedric Halloween event where like he said a vendor would show up, but he should only show up on the week of Halloween, and he should offer an exclusive pet/costume or armor set but you would have to complete a bunch of quests in order to get the rewards.

I would not support IRL holidays. I am in the UK and we don't go all out for halloween like you guys do over the pond, why should my game be invaded by a largely American commercial holiday? You wouldn't like it if I insisted on a Samhain celebration in game.

Tamrielic feast days and festivals that fit in with lore, yes absolutely, I would support that 100%.

Oh don't misunderstand, I, like most players, feel all in-game "holiday" events should conform to TES lore! But a lot of the TES holidays have a similar theme to RL holidays and fall seasonally around the same time. So it'd be fun to have them coincide a little.

And as a Yank who DOES celebrate Samhain I say... bring it. :)

This really seems to be a request for a Halloween celebration... just without using the WORLD Halloween. My vote is no.

The holiday in October that resemble Halloween is the Witches Festival on Frostfall 13th
Today is the 13th of Frostfall, known throughout Tamriel as the Witches' Festival when the forces of sorcery and religion clash. The Mages Guild gets most of the business since weapons and items are evaluated for their mystic potential free of charge and magic spells are one half their usual price. Demonologists, conjurors, lamias, warlocks, and thaumaturgists meet in the wilderness outside (the city), and the creatures created or summoned there may plague Tamriel for eons. Most wise men choose not to wander this night. In Daggerfall, this is the Summoning Day for Mephala.

It has nothing to do with costumes or dressing up or hiding treats. I don't know of any Tamrielic holiday that would fit the Holiday staples of costumes and tricks and treats.

I really hope ZOS never shoehorns earth holidays into ESO with weak justifications like suggested.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

:P Aw gimme a break Gid! It was just an early bid for something fun. If you read the OP you'll see that I specifically said I did NOT want "Halloween" costumes but rather some cool Tamriel appropriate clothing. This was way before the Crown Store and I'd be happy to see those requested items there now.
