No longer a hold out

I've been holding out for a console release. (I know...I know...) But alas, after all the new updates, ESO Live, and watching ESOTR on twitch weekly, I've decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. My PC isn't bad, I have always just preferred a controller over a mouse/keyboard. So, I was just posting to see if there are any pointers that may come in handy as I traverse Tamriel? I did play the beta, so I'm not completely lost. But beyond level 14, It's all new to me.

Thanks in advanced.

Just get a guild man, games not overly difficult. Hmm certain things you should know are class skills that uses mana but is a Melee attack scales off of spell damage but uses weapon crit.

Can't you use a controller for PC? Always thought you could.

I've been using a controller since the beta. Native controller will be coming in the future. For now, 2nd party controller programs get the job done just fine if that is what you want.

If you want to use a controller, plug in a controller (with good 2nd party program)
If you want to play on your couch, plug your PC to your TV.

PC's are flexible like that :)
This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!

To clarify. The game uses skills that you socket, that function as special attacks. You're limited to a total of 6 at one time.

These come either from your class, your weapons, or some other source, such as your membership in the Mage's Guild.

Class abilities are all spells and use magicka. A few of those are melee attacks, like the nightblade abilities that conjure and attack with a spectral dagger. Those attacks use spell damage, but their crit is based on your weapon crit.

For spells there's a seperate crit chance stat, and a spell power stat which scales with your magicka.

With weapons there's a weapon power stat that increases your damage, which scales off your stamina. And, there's a weapon crit stat, because it's an RPG, you need that stuff.

Yeah^ what he said. I'm at work and feeling lazy... Recruited a bunch of new players into my guild and have had to explain almost the entire game at least 3 times this week hahaha.
