Hmmm, I'm not seeing a problem with daily quests myself. I don't think you need to force people to have to do dungeons over and over to have a shot at the one decent reward each day, unless this is about trying to keep those that play a lot from getting rewards more than others - that's just backwards thinking IMO. If players don't like dailies, then they don't have to do them - no big deal. I don't do the dailies in Craglorn after I did them once.

You can do two dungeons a day on the pledges, one for gold and one for silver key. Both scale up to V12, even the non-vet dungeon (it is more difficult of a run, but not as hard as the scaled up vet version - I think mechanics are a bit easier usually IMO for what we've tried so far). That's a pretty good addition to the game IMO and with all the loot dropping at V12 now, people may want to run dungeons just to try and get the in-dungeon sets at V12 like worm cult, ebon, and other special sets, aside from undaunted rewards (which are V14 if you are). You can also get the cool monster helms from bosses - those aren't undaunted chest rewards, those are drops.

For those of us that enjoy running dungeons, having new reasons to do so is a great addition to the game.

Not entirely sure how they worked out 20 hours = daily BUT I agree with Zeni (and that doesn't happen often). Making them daily was a good move.

If/When Zeni add more dailies I hope they stick to this format, It'll be good for the game overall !

Don't forget they are adding the undaunted "monster" sets as drops from dungeon bosses, so there will be a reason to run dungeons other than just the daily quests.

Why are Daylies in an MMO? They want you to lock in every Day thats why. So you will sub again cause you wanna lock in and make your daylie Daylies

Daily quests might appeal to some players the same way they might not be welcome by others. However, personally, I am quite happy with the whole concept, and actually the more the merrier.

Again, personally, I find dailies quite appealing and a vital part of any MMO I play, it is something I put in my schedule, something always there to do. Usually, daily quests are not about spectacular rewards, they are more about accumulating resources or points or credits towards a "higher goal" or just a means to further resources, consumables or income.

Let's wait and see how they will be implemented and how the whole thing works out, but I for one welcome what ZoS are planning and I would encourage them to add even more options via more "factions" or guilds.

They can be there, do them if you like, ignore them if you don't. Just like I totally ignore other aspects of the game, like Cyrodiil, Trials and the like. As long as the ultimate rewards are nothing truly extraordinary and only fair for the time and effort spent to pursue them, it is all good, just like with any task / reward option.

    Hi All,

To those that kept civil, thank you for your explanations. As I said in the very beginning of my post, "there might be an explanation for this". Many of you have pointed out the reason and for that I am thankful.

However, that still doesn't change my opinion on "daily activities". I do see the point of limiting the amount of times you can do the activity to increase the reward, but I don't think EVERYTHING about the update should be limited.

I suggest limiting the chance at awesome rewards to once a day (or whatever) and then giving us another reason to continue doing to dungeons for undaunted. Maybe a more repeatable quest version that gives us points towards some other reward. They could give us undaunted points like they give us alliance points and we could use the undaunted points to buy the new undaunted equipment just in case we are extremely unlucky with the daily chests.

I kinda get your point, but I think this is also a way to balance things out between those who can play a lot vs. those who can't (me incl.). It's actually really nice for me that there are certain rewards that I can attain just as easily as those who can play 10 hours a day.

Weekly trial rewards was something I loved when I found out about it, I'm a pretty good player (and play with good players) even though I have limited time, so I can always squeeze in those 1-2 trial runs to get a good time and be rewarded with something cool without necessarily having to play every day.

Dungeon scaling will still give incentives to redo them, as for example the boss helmets are drops from the final boss. You can do that over and over. Plus the fact that scaled mobs will give you other set drops (the usual dungeon sets) at your level (or VR12 if your higher).

It seems pretty fair to me, certain rewards can only be gotten once a day, others can be farmed if you're so inclined.

Edit: I'm not opposed to your idea of Undaunted Points either, although I would want these to be other rewards than from the dailies (because of reasons above).

I see your point about trying to even the playing field between players that play a lot and players that can only afford a couple hours of their day. Just so you know, I am the latter. I only play a couple hours a day and that's just if I have time to log on.

Here's the thing though. Why have that mind set? I fully expect someone that plays the game 5 times longer than me to get stuff 5 times faster than me. I don't expect us to be even.

Thank you for agreeing with my Undaunted points idea. I believe that is the best way to go at it. That way there is something in it for everyone to be happy.

I do agree and I surely expect people who play a lot to have more stuff, that's not the thing here, I think this is perfect because it has certain gear that is not based on time spent - and other gear that is. So they can appeal to people who don't like dailies and people who do, at the same time, because both have means of obtaining great gear - just different gear.

They could appeal to both groups even more if they implemented the idea of gaining points for dungeon runs to go towards getting the items you have a chance of getting from dailies ;) This would make it possible for both groups of people to be happy and overall give everyone a good reason to continue doing dungeons instead of seeing them as a one-time grind.

I think this is a great addition to the game. Having daily quests to further encourage going into the dungeons is great. Daily quests are fairly common in other games. I am no sure why the OP is upset about having daily quests added. I guess it may be a case if give an inch and they expect a mile.

this is why we cannot have nice things. Would elaborate, but personal characterisations are unproductive.

    On a humorous note however:

"we have a dire situation at hand! We need help dear hero! Please assist us in x/y task!"

"Oh you brought more/destroyed more of our enemies? Oh no thanks tbh, not really. I can only accept so much. Why yes of course we are in need! We are dying! Do come back in, lemme count now, 22 hours 45 minutes and exactly 12 seconds later will ya? Cheers mate, what would we have done without you. Crisis and all that, just can't get enough really"

and yet his sub is as good as anyone else's. This is why we cannot have nice things.

I also like dailies. It helps incentivize PvE grouping which helps you meet new players that may end up becoming in-game friends. However, I wouldn't want dailies to become -central- to game experience. Like, in SWTOR (atleast when I played years ago) doing dailies was necessary to get end-game PvE gear... I don't like that.

Personally, if you really want to sell the whole "play as you choose" one must allow for multiple play styles... Whether it is PvE solo and/or group; PvP large scale or small; an economic system that also allows players to play the markets (I also use EvE Online's economy as an example).

I really love how ESO is slowly but surely expanding. The Champion System, Justice System, and the new "mini game" for crafters... Of course the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves' Guild in the future along with player housing even further down the road. All good things that are really opening the game up in so many directions. I'm glad ZoS has actually been keeping their promise with the content updates! I was half expecting the "excuses" to have come already.

No, I don't want to grind everything in 2 days. I want there to be more of an incentive to do dungeons all the time so people have a reason to do them more than one dungeon a day.

I would much prefer a random dungeon bonus that stacks to 5 or 7. I only play maybe two days a week and would hate that during m-f I would miss out on my daily dungeons rewards. It would work kinda like this.

Mon-Friday you cant play and your daily random dungeon bonus stacks to 5. You log on Saturday and do your 6 random dungeons. (5 plus 1 for Saturday)
Then you log in on sunday and do one more.

Rules and what I would like to see
    -Bonuses cannot stack past 7-
-Must use random LFG finder with random dungeon to get bonus (Note you can still form a group and que if you don't like pugs)-
-Make bags drop non BOP consumable champion signets that give like 30-60K exp-
-Give the undaunted skill line some passives that boost exp in dungeons and other unique perks-

This is an interesting idea and I kind of like it. I still believe there should be even more freedom though so people can have a reason to do dungeons more often.

yeah I think that the perks from undaunted passives would encourage people to do the dungeons maybe one that will allow the max amount of writs to stack from 5-7, boosted exp from dungeons, chance to get a champion exp signet if you que for a random dungeon using LFG tool. Thins like that beyond just the normal writs would get people into dungeons and interacting with each other. This is just a groundwork idea that I am sure can be expanded on by our community and testers.
