I agree with this nerf -bearing in mind I level up destruction staff on all my chars-, impulse had far too large an area.
This change won't make the stamina based aoe skills from weapon any less garbage.
Imagine Impulse only starting to do its damage at 50% hp on mobs. Now you know how steel tornado is.
And that doesn't even touch on poor 2H Cleave, the most worthless aoe since they seem intent on buffing dots without understanding that dots in this game suck because the damage per tick is low, and you can't spam dots as it only refreshes the dot. The damage per multiple casts of cleave is terrible.
The only remaining stamina aoe are acid spray and shroud of daggers, shroud of dagger wont be used because Hidden/Flying Blade is the one stamina spender ingame that doesn't suck, and Acid Spray is a cone with still less damage output than impulse and greater stamina cost.
And magicka builds can stack impulse with powerful class AoE like DK and Templar aoe skills. Especially the DK with his AoE fire DoT's.
But hey, they buffed Uppercut by 2%, 2H is saved!
I expect stamina builds by 1.5 will consist of snipe bow spec.
