What will ESO look like in 30 days?

Have my second 3-month sub active at the moment, when it expires I will have my 3rd. Or maybe I'll switch to 6 months, not sure yet.

I'm subbing month-to-month, but thinking about stopping it.

...And increasing it to a longer subscription length.

I like the game, but the veteran content feels unrewarding and too grindy. I don't PvP and I have no interest in large group content a la Craglorn. My 6 month sub is almost at an end and with that other game's expansion due, I have unsubbed for now. I will probably come back to take a look at the new Champion system once new solo endgame content is available.

I am on the 3 months plan - thinking of leaving. Recently discouraged a relative from playing AT THIS TIME.

I'm a 6 month subscriber with 26 days left. I unsubscribed long ago when they couldn't fix the Caltrop exploit after a month of destroying PvP. I still enjoy the game at times but I see this as a great deadline for me to move on and find better uses for my time.

I absolutely refuse to reward failure, and the Devs in their lack of communication and inability to address major issues in a reasonable amount of time haven't done anything to convince me to renew.

Added to all of this there is nothing on the horizon of interest to me. There is no timeline on the release of Imperial city and PvP which is the thing I've enjoyed most on ESO has become very stale. Even as Emperor I find it taxing to log in and do the same things I've been doing over and over for the past 5 months. It's just a giant long grind to PvP Rank 50 and I just don't see anyone lasting long enough to make it there.

What will happen? Probably the same thing that happened when the first 30 days were up. There's going to be a population dropoff, but not a huge one. Most of the people that were going to unsub will have left already. I know some people keep playing to the last minute, but they're a bit of a rarity. Most people, if they're going to unsub, they'll do that when they stop playing, and then their subscription runs out.

I'd be willing to bet (and this IS a guess), that most of the 6mo preorder subs that aren't going to reup, already stopped playing awhile ago.

In game, this means we probably won't see a real change in the population. Some faces will be gone, but most of them will remain. The stream of new players will continue, which is a good thing for all of us, and a lot of the long time crowd will still be there.

In other words, business as usual.

Nothing will happen to me. I will continue paying month to month for both of my subs.
"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

I am interested in what it will look like as well. A lot of good games are coming out like Dragon Age, Shadows of Mordor (already out), WoW's new expansion, Far Cry 4 etc.

I'm gonna resub but ZOS might want to think about adding like a "Free to Try" option for the game... maybe the first like 10 days are free for people to try this game out and after that they have to buy it/get a sub.

Id venture to say the people who are through with ESO have already stopped logging in prior to their 6 month sub running out (at least I would have if I wasn't having fun). So with regards to population, I'd say things are fairly static for the most part, with a little +/- depending on the update content and what other games release/players finish.

It will look just as beautiful as ever. The game needs work here and there but the world itself is wonderful and just waiting to have more wonderful content added. Content takes time but the world is there to be lived in and I'll be living in it for a while yet.
