Quick Question? Can someone be banned from the game for listing wrong/correct prices in Zone chat?

Yeah I probably should have thought of taking a screen shot but didn't at the time even then by the time I reported them the chat had already updated and removed pretty much 90% of what they had said.

What zone and faction was it? I might have to swing by there and sell a couple items for cheap...

Just pointing this out but common sense doesn't always work when dealing with online stuff. Case and point I've had friends that were forced to change their account name on other games just because someone wanted their account name.

That and I've seen how mob mentality has happened in other games and gotten players that did nothing wrong banned. So that's why this post is here.

Yeah I probably should have thought of taking a screen shot but didn't at the time even then by the time I reported them the chat had already updated and removed pretty much 90% of what they had said.

Scroll up. As long as you haven't relogged, the chat history remains. Having the history in the screenshot makes it hard to dispute.

I also snap a screenshot for my own benefit - usually including the CS report and the chat window. You then have your own record.

Click the chat window, use the scroll button on your mouse (or the arrows on the side - if they have them?) to the offending comment, report, include screenshot.

Use the <Enter> key or "/" to show the keep the chat window from fading out during the report, if you have to.

I specifically enjoy the ones that indicate exactly how they intend to violate the ToS. They simply don't need to be here.

And @Kangas, I suspect OP wanted clarification. Absurd as it may seem, I'd rather be sure than get banned on some stupid technicality. I also suspect OP wanted to vent a little about the absurdity he encountered.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

There is nothing in the ToS/ToU that says you can be banned for providing users with the current market value on a product.

yeah, this doesn't seem like something you'll be banned for.

on a side note, is there a 'usual' price for the motifs? I have actually accumulated quite a few (2 Orc, 2 Khajiit, 1 High Elf, 1 Nord, 1 Red Guard and 1 Argonian). I've never attempted to sell anything to other players and don't keep an eye on how much is asked for these things. :confounded:

Usually, the baseline figure is around 500. There's a little variance between them, but nothing consistent.

Prices have been trending down over the past couple weeks. So, 300-400's a good measure of where it is most places right now.

Auridon yesterday was down at around 200. I've seen it get as high as 1k in Daggerfall, but I don't know if they were actually selling any or just demanding that, though no one called them out.

I just sold a lot of 7 for 2500 yesterday.

They're not hugely valuable, but they are worth selling if someone is willing to pay.

    Blue Motifs for 300-400g.

I have been selling Blue Motifs in my Guild Stores for 200 Gold all weekend long. Don't care if it is people buying them to resell at 300 to 500, but I am getting them out of my inventory. Besides, I get a motif book almost each time I farm Wayrest Bank and Castle.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The prices of items in ESO changes every minute. If some1 sells Imperial motif for like 80k you'll have to undercut them if you want to sell it first. And if nobody offers anything like that you can put out offer for 100k. You're even free to raise price up to 300k if you want, but then no one will buy it, but thats your own problem.

So no one can ban you for telling "false"prices. You'll have to decide yourself if you want to sell stuff quickly or wait for a month but get a few coins more.
Whoever said that argonians aren't sexy, is obviously not a sexy argonian.

To say nothing of the guy in The Rift that started selling the Imperial Motif at 40k, and then kept moving it up in 10k increments every week... it was at 90k, last I checked. Yeah... that'll work.

And, as a quick aside to whomever is LOLing all of my posts: I want you to remember something, "Your derision only makes me stronger." :D

Yeah... like I said, didn't even occur to me to think of taking a screen shot until it was too late. Either way if the person gets banned or doesn't I won't be hearing from them any time soon either way.

And you would also be correct about your last statement, I'd rather be sure then be banned and yes to also vent a bit about how asinine the whole situation is in general because that is pretty much all it was.

Short answer would be NO. And the prices you told seems to be very accurate. No, dont think you can get a ban from telling the truth. Stick to it mate, hope you get a better reception from some sane players next time.

? value? Folks, value is a relative term. There is no correct price except the price someone is willing to pay.

Okay, with respect, that's pedantic, even for me. :p
