NIGHTBLADE 1vX PvP Video

I started playing NB in PvP for the first time this weekend and got a few clips to put together a 1vX Montage.

I plan to level a NB with a different race (Breton, Imperial, or Redguard) in order to maximize it's potential.

I would like to see a 1vX that you don't gain resources by running upstairs, when you run out, while the people you're fighting are attacked by the 3rd realm and you regain full resources to reenter you're 1vX.

Im not trying to be negative, but I think Chat and Notorious would have been the end if the 3rd realm didn't show up an burn them out of stamina halfway up the steps. Then you teleoport and ult Chat. I've ended up in small skirmishes with him all over the map and I don't think you would 1vX him without the interference of the 3rd realm depleted his block.

Hehe, that build looks very familiar. Got rid of Sap Essence though because I wanted to get a more specialised1 on 1 build with more options against Dks :-)
How's Shadow Image working for you? I liked it a lot for its tactical versatility but it often didn't teleport me back despite being within its range :-(
Surprised me you weren't using Swallow Soul, it's a nice additional heal.

Sypher, nj. It's a good video. You showcased los-blocking and situational awareness very well.

My thoughts on the video giving a constructive critical analysis:

The darkened borders were cool. The music was cool. Both fit a nightblade's playstyle. They do not, however, fit eachother. The darkened borders darken the video with a gothic appeal. Music that would fit such an appeal would be more suitable for the video.

This tips the scale for me leaning against interest in nightblades. While most of the potential for nightblades revolves around their insanely low ttk capabilities which make them supreme gankers (which isn't for me I'm looking to take keeps and engage in small group v group pvp as well as large scale pvp), you managed to pull off a 1vX. It looked ugly lol. Don't get me wrong I'm not criticising your abilities, I'm saying that it just didn't look right. When I see you (or others) on their DKs or Templars taking hits to the face and just keep fighting, it looks natural. A NB's skillset visuals don't look like they belong in group fights, in my opinion.

Sypher, in regards to your dueling guild, do you guys do group fights like 4v4 or even 4v4v4 etc?

Edit: It should be noted that if ZOS decides to implement arena matches, my interest in NBs will go up dramatically.

Which reminds me. You just so happen to pull a VR12 NB off the shelves. Where do you have time to level so much? Or even a better question, how did you level up so quickly? It seems like it was just a couple weeks ago you were talking about going 50/50 with a NB in your dueling guild on your DK. I have a VR1 DK and a lvl9 Templar and thats it. Basically I'm asking if you have any tips on how I can level up more quickly.

You did say it's your opinion so I'm not going to criticise you, each to their own after all. I'm just going to say that for me classes offer a template and then your actual build defines your play-style, not the class name.

The point Sypher was trying to make I think, and what a lot of us have been shouting for a while, is that NBs are not only an awesome class, but probably the most versatile class in the game.

NBs can be the best gankers, they can be great 1vX DPS/tanks second perhaps only to DKs in that capacity and they can stand toe-to-toe on a duel against anyone. Oh and don't forget, the best DPSer in end-game PvE or a par with DKs, by far surpassing the Sorc

When people complain about their NBs, I cringe. They play bow/dw gankers and they complain because they get stomped by DKs with 1vX builds. Ironic, when a similar build is available to their class yet they refuse to do it because as you said, they don't feel they want to play that way. Is that a class problem, or a build problem?

Just to give you tips, since I leveled 2 Vr14s in less than 2 weeks, myself, AoE grinding and relentless Vet grinding will get you to where you need to be. On both of my Vr14 DKs I did not quest anything except the main storyline, since I like to have it at least done to gain access to the first Vet zone. [:

Hey I watched the video. I watched the first 2 kills which were standard NB gameplay. Then I watched the other alliance help and 2 very good players taken out by the other alliance. Calling that a 1vX is bullsht. I don't see you doing that kind of thing on you DK, right (needing to leech)? Because DKs actually have power to truly 1vX but her your 1vX is you leeching. The last three targets you cleaned up man. But where Im at is that the Chiat and Anonymous would have cleaned your clock if the other realm didn't show up and that right there is not a 1vX. You don't need to be sleezy like that on your DK. right? But that's your best footage isn't it? Look at your stamina in the entire video. NO ONE IS making you use stamina. Monkeys Monkeys monkeys, look at this video. NO ONE is making him use stamina! Watch it over and over, no one makes him blow his wad!! How many 1vX are you in that YOU are not out of stamina? This is a sham video. You cropped it. You're looking to make yourself seem superior on the NB. Your easy mode DK vids. Ok ahaha, syphers so good. Show the times you fail. Because that's the real Night Blade issue. Show the times that they're stacking shields on you and You cant do any DPS. Show when you're frustrated. And this game seems so *** Lazy. There are moment in the NB life that we do get away with some fantastic gameplay. I know youre a good player above and beyond the rest. Sypher. I've been playing NB for 3 days.... 3 days.

Unlike a good portion of the nb's out there, I found something that works for me and is effective.

Every class can 1vX in a different style, my DK isn't mobile so I have to go toe to toe with everyone until I die.

On I NB I'm a little more mobile and can juke out / kite people. It's part of the class and I will use it to my advantage.

Also. Shield stacking against this build? My tele-surprise combo does 1200+ damage on light armor shield stackers, not even from sneak.

I know NB still have some issues that need addressing, but that won't stop me from using the tools they currently have to 1vX.

Sap Essence against multiple targets is such good fun. Glad to see you make solid use of it; have seen other Nightblades try to proclaim it as a weak performing skill, but it has always been one of my favourites.
Warlock-style Nightblade is quite enjoyable.

A lot of players are still really set on Nightblades as a stealth and shadows Stamina build, which does garner my sympathy.
Magicka build Nightblades can perform really well though.

Like the video. Looking forward to more.
If my monthly bandwidth cap was not so low, would feel inspired to upload some of my own.

I don't see anyone really complaining about NBs being underpowered anymore. Most people realize that the issues being experienced are merely bugged abilities. The whole 'fix not buff' mentality is pretty common now among NBs I end up speaking with.

And really, stamina NBs likewise have either wised up to the fact that it's really stamina that's generally ***, and not their class, or those that haven't realized this don't really bring it up anymore because they probably saw the 20 people that corrected the last guy that said something about it.

I was also playing my Nightblade this weekend for PvP while working on a Video for it.

While I didn't have as much sustain as my DK (unless standing in a big group spamming Sap Essence) I could escape fights so much easier on my NB...

was bloody nice...Though sometimes I would still get caught which sucked...though I found that Stealth Pots are amazing for Night Blades cause the speed bonus.

It's not stamina either that is messed up either... not now, not before the latest patch and certainly not after the next patch from the looks of it.

It requires a different mindset to play stamina nightblade, you'll have to be more reactive with dodge & keep your fingers off the block button.

It used to be shield stackers that caused some trouble for stamina builds, but with the annulment/harness magicka nerfs & cheaper (and stronger) stamina abilities, that shouldn't be a problem anymore (although not being able to crit at all on a target with dmg shield up should still be fixed).

I've been playing my (gank specced) NB exclusively for the past few weeks now and the escape tools are definitely nice. In group play Shadow Cloak is great for ducking out when things get hot, then reengaging a vulnerable target. It can really turn the tide of a fight.

My preference is for stealth pots are the ones that give me immovable. I find that I rarely use triple pots, but use detects/stealth pots quite a bit.
