Yes I am on a laptop and for my hard disk, I have a ATA WDC WD7500BPKX-7. I'm still trying to figure out what SSD I have. I know my internet is fine because I play WoW without lag. Not very demanding but I have 20 Latency, 40MBPS/down 10MBPS/up.

-Edit- I'm not comparing it to WoW, I'm just saying that it shouldn't take 10 minutes on the loading screen. I just wish this was better.

Sometimes I experience long loading screens but typically only after an update.

Running an AMD 4100 Quad /3.6 with 16 GB DDR3 and a GForce GTX 670. This is not top of the line these days and I run custom high settings anywhere from 20 FPS to 90 FPS depending on where I'm at. Cities usually hover around 30 FPS, Large Cyrodiil battles drop to about 10. The lower end of my FPS scale wasn't always so. After Craglorn Expansion is when the trouble started for me and I rarely even go to Craglorn. Pretty sure they'll get it worked out at some point.

On my end, the game usually runs between 30 and 40 fps average. When I enter towns, it goes up and down between ca. 15 and 25. In Cyrodiil it runs fine, as long as no battle is going on nearby, IN a battle, it drops to 4, I assume it's all that spellcasting and too many players at one spot. Sometimes the game even just logs me out there automatically, then I end up at the point where I left to Cyrodiil...

I really would love to fight in Cyrodiil, but on 4 fps I need a bucket and a doctor (really, I get sick watching that slideshow). It needs about 10 seconds to use the staff or cast a spell, by this time I get killed most of the time anyways, so what's the point then..

I just wanted to thank everyone for their time. I started playing the actual game last night and I found it to be enjoyable. Aside from the 5-10 minute loading screens which I experienced once last night. This game is good, but not great and it does have problems. I tweaked the settings and I get about 40-60 FPS now. About 30 in the city, so would that be considered normal?

FPS is about normal, long loading screens is not normal...I only get long/infinite loading screens when I am experiencing random packet loss. I know how to recognize them though, and just altf4 and reload the game.

Yeah, an upgrade wouldn't hurt ;) But nevertheless, my hardware is still above the minimum requirements, so I don't know why it runs like this. When they say it would run on this machine, then I expect it runs on this machine, otherwise I wouldn't have bought the game. Not everyone can upgrade at anytime due to other monthly financial obligations. They also said they fixed the lag problem in Cyrodiil, but I still don't notice any difference..

    Btw, I'm not a dude ;)

I'm on similar laptop with same processor as you but Radeon hd5780 1gb vram and 4gb ram and also playing on wireless internet.
Since replaced hdd with ssd all loading times take 10-20s apart first load after update which is always longer.
Sorry to say but if you really have such a long loading times the cause is on your side.

The only time I experience long loading screens are directly after the big content updates, after that it usually take a minute or less. In the environments and cities, I consistently get around 80-90 FPS, around 60-70FPS in various PvE and small scale PvP combat and 10-30FPS in moderate/large size sieges in cyrodiil. I also experience little to no lag outside of cyrodiil and the only time I crash is in cyrodiil.

    Specs:
    i5 4690K
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 Motherboard
    HD6850 Radeon graphics card
I also dont overclock as of this time. Also this comp is around a month or two old.

Weird, my load times are 30seconds to a minute tops to get in, and stay steady at 60ish fps. Perhaps it's time to upgrade?

There seem to be two issues here.

    1) Long load time. This should not typically be graphics card related, so I think it is a waste of time to look there first. Load times are the network, local CPU, HD, and ESO server. A lot of things happen during the loading screen, especially after a patch, while the game sorts things out. Once everything is sorted out, the loading screen leading to character select will be fairly short.

When your experience is outside of the norm at the time, the two high probability causes are network and intense CPU/HD activity or slowness. The latter could be caused by game corruption, which is what Repair is intended to check for.

    2) Once in the game, you experience poor FPS. This is to a degree that others are not experiencing it. This is graphics card, CPU/HD, the network, and the server.

Again, if you are experiencing this outside of the norm for others at the time, it points to the network, graphics card, and CPU/HD. Graphics card, if it is the issue, is unrelated to the long load time.

Let's take the 750m first. The little "m" at the end speaks volumes. ESO will give the card a better workout than Skyrim, in my experience, so the 750m may throttle down to keep core temp in range. That said, turning down settings would mitigate this, so I think we can safely rule out the 750m, for now.

That leaves the CPU/HD and the network. The cause will likely be the same as with 1. The game could be corrupted and a Repair is needed.

However, I suspect the network as the primary source of problems. By network, I mean "internet", and not necessarily your ISP.

I do want to say that a lot of people rage at "Repair", mostly because of the perception that it does not fix anything. However, I view the Repair as establishing part of the base line. It rules out one possible problem and it only needs to be run once. If it fixes something, you will be glad you tried it. If it does not, then at least it is done and you no longer have to worry about that.

I will also say to avoid ALT-F4 to exit the game during loading screens without giving ESO many minutes to clear the screen. By many minutes, I mean on the order of 15 minutes, not a couple minutes. It appears that some loading screens are doing work locally, especially after a patch. If this is interrupted, at minimum the game will pick up where it left off and you will still have to wait, just longer. At the worst, it could cause corruption that may require a Repair.

As far as the FPS issues go, the 750m is not a powerful graphics card, at all.

    videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GT+750M

Skyrim on Ultra looks nowhere near as good as ESO on Ultra, and even then a 750m could not play Skyrim on Ultra with more that 30-40fps (and that's being generous).

I'm assuming those tests are for the 1gb ddr5 version. I get pretty great performance with most games on ultra.

I'm playing with an AMD and let Raptr 'optimise' for me. Only time the loading is a problem is if something goes wrong.
If the loading screen is taking a longer than usual time, I just shut down and re launch and log in again and the problem is solved.

I suggest OP buys a decent PC

It's not the fact that I need a "Decent PC" because I have a great gaming laptop. It runs most games on ultra at 60 FPS. ESO is terribly optimized. Go look at the reviews online. Angry Joe mentions it, as do a few others.

I was following this post to see what causes your problems as you seem to have a good gaming laptop. But with your previous statement you've lost all credibility for me. Don't use Angry Joe to prove your point (or any point).

He is the one reviewer that came to mind when I was typing that.

Sadly he comes to many people's mind. And I agree that the game is poorly optimized. However, I haven't had a problem and play since early access on my gaming PC. I also tried on my 5 year old Dell laptop and it runs steadily at 30fps on medium settings. So I guess it really depends on your equipment. What I realized, though, was that I had to stop a lot of background tasks on my laptop to get it working. Hope you solve your loading issue as the game is great.

I would say this game has its choppy moments but generally it runs just great on medium power systems like mine, especially considering its beautiful and detailed graphics.

I found out that I wasn't receiving packets due to Windows Firewall blocking them.. Now my load screens are about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I am also getting better frames as well. Thanks guys.

Thank you for that statement. Now those of us who advise will add "check Firewall" to the list :).

I was going to add that you should state whether you are using the EU or NA server because there is a connection difference with a lot more complaints about the EU server connection.
