Hey people.
Today, I'm level 17 with my Templar character. Build is mostly focused on stamina and physical damage. I plan to mostly do PvE and a bit of PvP if it isn't too bad.
Here is the topic that inspired me, when I was thinking "which class should I use" :

http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/dual-wield-dps-wip-clip-it-like-one-of-your-french-girls/

For now, I'm fine with my character, supporting people with a heal ability and dealing very good single-target damage imho.
My only complain is that, besides Radiant Aura, Blazing Shield and maybe the broken charge. There isn't much from the class abilities I could make use of.

Dragonknights on the other hand, heck... just look at this :
(Keep in mind that's just something I've made up in 30 seconds lol, so there's lot of room for improvement.)

What I want to say is that it seems DK is more suitable for a melee character.
I tried NB until level 10 and yes there are some cool abilities but I don't know, I don't like the class that much despite having cool abilities to improve the dps.

I'm looking to play a dw melee char with medium armor, and I play Redguard. Level 17 isn't much, but I'd be a bit sad about my crafted levels lol. I'm thinking of making a new character, and maybe a DK is, as I said, more suited for this job.

Of course, I'm not looking to play FoTM, I just want to find which class would suit more my playstyle. I would like some opinions about this.

Thanks !

Templars are unfortunately shoehorned into very few offensive styles, and generally suffer more from building for stamina than other classes do. I'm currently working on a reguard nightblade for a stamina build. I'm afraid I can't offer much insight into other classes, but I can certainly say templar isn't the most interesting choice when it comes to stamina builds.

Just use flurry as staminaskill the rest use classskills from temp. It is really much fun. I love Meleetemp its the most fun (probably not the best) class
Im not the Hero you need, im the Troll you deserve!

from what I saw in the calculator, Nightblade has definately nice offensive abilities but in terms of survivability it's like... none x)

Puncturing Strikes, Spear Shards, and Blinding Light all work very well with melee builds.

I think part of the fun in this game is taking classes that are deemed to be weak and trying out different strategies to see if you can make them strong. My main is a high elf templar who's currently about lvl 44. There was a point in the game where I felt this character was hopeless; it seemed that he was very weak and couldn't hold his own. Instead of giving up on that character, I read up on templar builds in the forums (check this out: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/130325/full-templar-class-analysis/p1), I experimented with different abilities and different combinations of abilities, I practiced my playstyle by learning the mechanics of mobs and bosses, and I forged ahead. Now I'm kind of pleased with how this character is developing.

I do admire those players skilled in theorycrafting and the precise manner in which different abilities work and contribute to the overall quality of the class, and I do believe that they are correct when they say the templar class and the nightblade class need to be improved, and placed more in line with DK and sorc. My sincere hope is that the devs are working to correct these deficiencies and by the time I get to vet level, the class will be better balanced and my efforts will be worthwhile. Although many people are impatient for this to happen quickly, I personally feel that the devs should take their time and get it right, rather than rushing to make changes that will throw something else out of whack.

Puncturing Strikes, Spear Shards, and Blinding Light all work very well with melee builds.

Puncturing strikes scales off magicka/spell damage and weapon crit. Everything else scales off Magicka and Spell damage/crit.

The only class ability you should be using for a maximum dps loadout as a Templar is Radiant Aura for it's passive stamina recovery and a good means to blow your magicka.
