Among those things that I find to be extraordinarily endearing about ESO are the npc voice-overs.
I believe they're very well scripted and superbly performed by the folks who do the speaking.
My sole criticism might be that there are actually too few of these very talented people doing the voices of far too many npcs (as I believe was the case with Skyrim) - but that isn't the point of this post. (I'm sorry - I digress.)
In no other online game that I've played do the npcs say things that are as clever, as down-right funny, as insightful, as inspiring - or as sad - as those in Elder Scrolls Online.
To put it the best way I know how: it's heart wrenching for me to encounter so many poor people, displaced victims, and homeless refugees, etc - all over Tamriel, it seems (or just about everywhere I've been so far, anyway) - who are knelt down by the side of some roadway or city street (or in some marketplace, encampment, or shipyard), begging for "a few coppers" (saying things like "I'm not asking for much..." or "Please help me..."), and for me to be unable to even speak to them (no interaction is possible), or toss them a coin or three.
I'm aware of certain randomly occurring encounters that take place in various overland locations (as well as a man and woman who seem to be permanently located in Davon's Watch), where it is possible for players to interact with (speak to) npcs who are asking for a handout, and then to choose a response - but these aren't the ones I'm referring to (and they seem to be far outnumbered by all the 'statically' located characters that I encounter in the places I mentioned).
Please make a way for me (and others) to help these folks out (or not?), and then maybe have them wander off (or de-spawn) for a game day or so.
It just feels horrible to pass by someone who is (very convincingly) begging/pleading for help, and knowing that there's no way I can help or even interact with them (I stop anyway, almost always, and try to click on them - just to make sure. I know: I'm a sap.)
Thank you.
