Yeah, I rather wander around. But again, that's from a PvE mindset. And khajiit are pretty fast when running around!

Also, nice to see you're still about, IGG.

Thanks - and it's good to see you're still here, too!

Lots of stamina potions, it's probably cheaper and faster than a 54k (fully fed) horse!

Outside PvP, I don't see a huge need for a horse.

I would rephrase that to "outside of Cyrodiil", as it's the size of the map that is the issue.

My main didn't have a horse until she was in her 40s. I didn't see the need for it. And even now, whenever I hop on my horse and take a few steps, I invariably find a resource I want to harvest, and it feels like running is faster than mounting and unmounting all the time.

I did get the 47K horse when I got one and upgraded the bags to the max, so now my main runs around with 170 inventory slots (and it still doesn't feel like enough sometimes...)

Farm mats as you go and sell the raw mats for 1400 to 1500 a stack. I have 7 characters all with maxed inventory and 2 horses (imperial for inventory and light horse for speed). They all got them themselves and were not fed money by the higher levels. I have been able to get this all by level 20 simply by farming mats as I leveled and selling them in global. That does not even include selling items, which I am mostly sending to my crafter to break down.

The prices are fine and definitely manageable, it may take a little work, but it is not that bad really.

@Alnilam‌ lam , Haha. I am familiar with this routine.

    Hop up.
    Inventory check. (Dang it)

    Hop up.
    Forgot to use a skill.

    Hop up.
    Ooh...Something shiny.

    Hop up.
    Skill wore off.

    Hop up.
    Dismounted by mudcrab...?

    Maybe I'll just walk...

Best way to find resources, Merlin, is mount a horse with the intention of riding it.

Caldwells Quests are a good reason to have a horse. Especially if your revisiting a zone you just leveled through with an Alt.

IMO prices are ok. Starting areas are stuffed with wayshrines so you dont even need a horse. And when you reach 3rd or 4th area you can gather money for horse very easilly.

Gold sinks are necessary for MMOs to keep inflation down. Inflation becomes a problem when newcommers to the game start fresh and everything in the Guild Traders is marked up 50-100% from several months ago.

The sinks in this game (repair, respec, horse, bags) are necessary for the economy to thrive in the long run. Every MMO should have them.

Well, the thing is vet zones have vet level shinies (runes and mats), so I end up dismounting all the time...

Fastest way to do Caldwell's quests is to ask someone to let you port to them so you discover all the wayshrines. No distractions that way...
