How many character slots do you use?

We can have up to 8 characters on each server, for a total of 16 character slots. Of those 16, how many do you use?

Eight.

I have 3 characters who quest and craft.

I have 4 mules who, well, just hang out in front of the bank holding things in inventory.

I have one character I rolled, but I am not sure if I am going to do anything with them or not. He is standing in a snow bank in Bleakrock right now.

They are all characters I would LIKE to play at some point but the truth is most of them are bank mules atm because of the absolutely ridiculous banking situation.

Six or seven.

I have one main, and then crafters or storage chars. I tell myself I should build out the rest of the empty slots to get the crafter hirelings on them but I just can't be bothered.
I play the game for fun, with a desire to have an excellent main, but more of a desire to relax and enjoy the game casually.

I've been to eight. Then I went through and cleaned my digital attic. That got me down to three - two of which are my crafters.

But I'm creeping back up again with six as of last night. I rolled two new characters just last night.

I'll probably delete one in a day or so.

5 Mains: (see signature) plus a VR1 NB in another faction who is also an alchemy/food crafter.
3 Mules: 1 gear, 1 enchantment runes, 1 crafting materials

Four or five.

I didn't read the whole poll and voted wrong.

I play on both servers and use 5 slots. One character is permanently parked though, so he doesn't really count.

Same here, I would like to continue playing with more of my characters. I did first, then they became mules because of the lack of bank space, also since the bank upgrades are horrible expensive. I have "only" 150 slots for ages now.
Only one out of four characters which are mules now I did create to be a mule.

I don't only hoard crafting materials, but also many self-crafted armor/weapon sets or other stuff like jewelry set items for later characters to have a "good start", as well as recipes (if possible one of each kind, but for drinks not so much), a bunch of low-level potions and some purple food for level 35 and above.
The bank slots will never be enough, I guess

Would love to have a few alts but the bank situation makes this impossible at present...

I have characters on both servers, but use LESS THAN eight slots.

on NA, I have 2 mains, 1 crafting alt and 1 storage alt.
on EU, I have 1 main and 1 that i'll start playing once my other mains have hit VR.

I have yet to decide what I want my 8th to be. Im thinking a light armor templar caster a la D&D favored soul, but they haven't been created yet.

1 i play , my main which is a templar.

7 mules that help my bag space and save names in case something really weird happen and i feel like wasting my time lvling a second char.

Four or five.

Right now I have 4 characters that I'm playing and one that kind of became a mule.

They all have their specific inventory items they have to hold, and I still have room to expand their inventory both via horse and via bag space.

I use an add-on called "Bank Manager" that allows you to set up to three different profiles for each character, so they each have a "quest" and a "hold" mode and I can empty the inventory of the one who is questing fairly easily.

I have two characters. One tank/werewolf and one healer/vampire. I infected them purely to be able to infect members of my guild, friends, or people willing to pay, not for roleplay purposes, and these are the only two characters I play or plan on playing.

However, I'm not sure how to answer this because once I max out these two (as in get them to the point I'm happy with them) I plan on building a rogue type character and using a third slot. I'm also more than willing to use my slots for mules, but I've never actually found a need to do so, yet.

I am a character creation fanatic lol! I actively use almost all 8 of my characters on NA, 3 of which are Vets... only 2 not being leveled atm but they will be in the future. I have several on EU as well, but only 1 of them i put much time into, and shes currently V2. If we could have more slots, id use them, id use them ALL! haha

I am terrible at these kinds of games so I end up making tons of characters because I don't know what I want. Took me forever to find my 'main' who was the last combo I tried (Nightblade Argonian Siphoner Healer)

I'm up to 7 as of right now. I have my main, plus two more traveling parallel through the other factions in PvE along side my main. All three are crafters, mainly so they can remain self sufficient. Then I have four experimental builds, spread out so there is at least one more in each faction. I would love to use the eighth slot for a second sorcerer build, but for now I'm leaving it open in case of emergency.

None of my characters are mules. They only carry what they need and use. The bank is used for sharing craft materials between them and for transferring items between characters.

For the sake of simplicity, just answer with the number you have currently. Also, thanks everyone for answering! It's interesting to see how many people use most of their character slots for mules.

I have four characters, two of which I play often, and the other two are just keepsakes. I've never used banking mules, because I've never really needed to.

I don't have time to play several characters, and I don't have time to grind up the gold to upgrade my bank, so each character is an extra 80 inventory slots for 2400 gold. Not how I want to play them, but with the sheer amount of crap I've got and don't want to get rid of... $:\$

EDIT: The biggest cash bottleneck for me right now is saving up for the AE motif. Once I have that, I can start pouring cash into the bank to get it to max, and start buying bags for characters I'm actually playing, but until then...

Two or three.

Clearly I'm in the minority, but I really don't find the banking situation that intolerable. I do fine with two played characters and no mules. I keep what I am going to use for my crafting and give away, sell, or destroy everything else.
