Notifications - please let us disable them!

Okay the game has been out a while now. Why can't I disable notifications? They are nothing but an annoyance when I just want to quest. I really don't care who has the scroll or how long it takes some random in a trade guild to complete a trial! Please ZOS it's a pretty big oversight.

ArcaneBlue✭✭✭just because there is an addon for disabling the notifications, it doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to do it by default. I really do not give a <bleep> if some guildies I never talk to complete hel ra citadel under ** minutes. at all.

✭Not to troll but you do want the pvp buffs in pve? So it might be interesting to know if you are losing them you know...for go in pvp and take them back if not well.... deal with it you gain a loot of buff for the scrolls and if you dont go in pvp that is the problemSignature2 -

To turn this back on it's head, do I want to know about things when my campaign is such that I cannot enter it to do anything about the notices for a hour or 3 ??? (Due to the campaign being full all the time)

Apparently someone at ZOS is very fond of these Trials and believes that everybody is sharing these feelings, which is not.
So ZOS, do you really need to do this?

in addition i am also requesting that the in my face center screen messages be placed to the top right of the screen also please, they are indeed offensive and very annoying all up in my face and center screen is over the top and really bothers me.
i have been asking for this to be changed now for quite a while, and seems to be ignored, i have no idea why anyone would want the notifications or the center screen messages to begin with.0 -

center screen forcing me to stop gameplay while your message takes a few minutes to disapier so i can see the game again, and forcing me to click on the icon to see the fact that some member of a trading guild that i only use for trading has a member that i never even heard of who past his time in the leader boards is to be honest a very annoying way to play for me in eso.
please just change it to the top right side of the screen, all messages on the top right would be very very helpfull and not make me feel soo angry when i see these messages, thank you0 -

✭✭✭✭✭truth is i realy am struggling to understand how this has ever even been acceptable as long as it has been going on, makes no sence to me why this is acceptable in elderscrolls online.
it just further strengthens my beliefs that the developers simply DO NOT play eso, at all, because if they did they would know how seriously annoying this current message system is.2 -

As I see, the problem here is the fact that the notification is always on and there is no way to disable it.
Another aspect is related to the fact that the trading system is limited to the guild, so the players have to join various trading guilds and it is not possible to know and play with 500 - 2500 people, so most of the time the notifications are related to people you don't know and don't care about.
As well, not everybody in this game is obsessed about the trials ranking. And if they do, it should be possible to access the ranking table in the game, instead of spamming everybody with annoying notifications.

Probitas✭✭✭It's a marketing gimmick meant to goad you to preform like a monkey in a zoo. See this guy do that? You should go do that too!!! It's not much different from sending spam mail when some idiot grows a weed on his Farmville and wants his friends to come help him with it. That's why I stopped using Facebook. The only way to turn that stuff off is to drop people off the friends list. This game uses a similar programming style like gambling: in a casino that turns on a bunch of lights and makes a ton of noise when some lucky SOB hits the jackpot on a one armed bandit in an attempt to mess with your brain and get you to want to do it too.
As for the delete confirmation on empty email, the usuals have come out in favor of it, so it's not likely going anywhere. I bet they never even brought it up at that summit.2 -

Cazic✭✭✭✭✭I'm going to have to agree, having things be optional is never a bad thing. Ideally, we could have a whole "notifications" section in the options menu to customize them to our liking. Being able to disable or change the position of on screen notifications would be great, as well as disabling notifications about trials, etc, if we wanted to.
But, it's not as bad as some of you guys are making it out to be. Someone above described the messages as "disturbing", "offensive", and "unacceptable". That's blowing it out of proportion just a little bit, don't you think? If you're that put off by an in-game notification popping up on screen for a few seconds, then you must have a hard time with a lot of other things.1
