funnest thing to do as a NB?

I know I'm probably not the only person who does this on their NightBlade, and I hope I inspire other NB's to do this just to laugh at other people.

1. Pick a person in a group/zerg that is traveling to a keep, piercing mark them and watch them freak out waiting for you to jump on them
2. Send out shades to a person and stay invisible and watch them to either a) try to fight the shades b) try to block the shades but waste stamina c) try to run from the shades
3. find a person running on a horse, hit them with a impale, invis and watch them wonder what the hell just happened.
4. play 'now you see me' by dropping a shade you can teleport to, when the enemy runs in, roll dodge and teleport, roll back drop another shade and wait for them to find you and try to charge in and repeat (this really only works with 1 enemy)

So what do other Nightblades do to play with your food?

Funnest thing to do nb as a temp?

    1. Continuously purge off the mark as your teammates sneak behind the nb then /sweep on his/her corpse.
    2. LOLbreathoflife threw the mark/gank/sneak attack/soul assault and any attack the nb may try to hit you with and watch as he/she pops an invis pot and runs off as your teammates approach then wait for the nasty messages.
    3. Continue doing what ever it was that you were doing before the gnat buzzed in your ear.

My favorite thing to do is burn! I love burning siege weapons and camps. I love watching them run around looking for me when I'm about 50 yards away, just laughing like a lunatic. I like to count how many I can burn before getting killed. So far my record is 11. Has anyone else tried keeping count? I bet a good NB (I'm not very good at games) could do a lot more.

I've done that so much! What I usually do is sit at walls and the second it drops (and my Alliance is waiting to burst in) I sneak in and up to the wall and try to burn the oil pots to clear the way for my alliance, It's pretty hard because all the enemies, but If I can do it my Alliance can rush in with little to no problem which is way better.

Chillax at a resource OPFOR is using as a base for a siege

Pick off one guy, watch him rez at the camp 20 meters away.
    Repeat process over and over
    Camp goes down
No one puts new camp up because no one else is around
    Watch siege fail.

Sit up on one of those wooden watchtowers you get outside keeps, when the enemy are sieging.

From up their you can get some great snipes off. They always run around looking for the NB but never look up !

2 or 3 NBs camping an outpost. Always pure evil, Esp. when the guy you have just killed twice attempts to stealth past you on some convoluted route over a wood pile, around a tree and along a wall going at a snails pace :)

Genuine question here, do people still freak out when they're marked? Are you sure they're freaking out and not just taking normal defensive measures? I honestly don't understand why the would.

Obviously if you're in a group, you just ask a purge from the healer, no problem there. But more importantly, when I'm playing solo and especially when I'm travelling if I get marked I'm normally relieved. It means I know there's a NB around as opposed to there being one and me not having a clue about it.

A +2k Snipe out of the blue, yeah I fear that. An Ambush+Death Stroke+Impale combo out of nowhere, sure I fear that too. But Mark Target, it's just a reminder for me to put my shields up and be a bit more cautious.

A competent nightblade wont mark you until the snipe is already on the way ;)

    Eh?

In your scenario Mark Target hits you less than half a sec before the snipe lands. You don't have time to freak out about the Mark, but you sure as hell are freaking out about the 2k HP you just lost and the 50% stam penalty you'll have to pay to break the CC.

I thought what the guys were talking about is Marking a target but not attacking immediately (or at all)?

I have obviously died to plenty of NB gankers, especially while being on horseback, but I don't think I've ever died after I was Marked. Your scenario excluded, which really is being Sniped first rather than being Marked first.

I hated playing as a bow wielding NB until I got to about VR5. Now with two lovely dark shades at my command and whatever the bow knockback skill is called I am doing pretty nicely - unless I get one of those bosses that is immune to knockbacks. Not fair on bow users that one.

I also really enjoy going to random places and pretending to be an NPC and seeing if I can get anyone to fall for it. Like going to a tavern and sitting on a chair by the fire - stuff like that.

No, I refuse. Don't take away my blades. A bow just unbalances me, I can't even sneak straight. ;)

I usually pick out the DK spamming talons/standard, ambush in and fear them. They've usually used up their stamina on immovable and blocking so can't break it. They go down in seconds when they can't dragon blood/reflective scales. If they do break it, wait 4 seconds, repeat.

Draining shot is probably the most fun. I draining shot all the things.
    1. Counter biting jabs spam with draining shot spam.
    2. Using middle mouse button and shooting behind self while kiting. They don't perma-block-attack when chasing!
    3. Draining shot people off things like oil pots, keep walls, outposts, etc.
    4. Killing enemy then a sorc start bolt escaping towards you to find you. Mark target then they bolt escape the other way
    5. The patient kill. Mark target, watch them freak out for about 30 seconds because they don't have purge. They stop holding block. Snipe them for the win.

surprisingly yes, there have been a few groups that I've done it to where they all dismount, someone purges while the rest run around looking for me. At that point I start playing Hot/cold with people searching for me and apply my mark on them if they get to far away.

I tried PVP for the first time Saturday night / Sunday morning (on Haderus), and that is about how it went for me. I'm VR 8 and most of my opponents were 12-14, but I learned a lot about what I'm doing and what I need to be doing in that scenario, because my PVE approach is very effective in PVE but no so much in PVP. I only had one kill on someone above my level 1 on 1, but I did get a number of other kills from ambushing people in the middle of a cluster of folks, including a really satisfying revenge kill on a former emperor.

I also do all things OP does. But i am also a vampire NB (i became vamp to get speed to kill vamp but i kinda like it now myself)

I like to mark them and just giggle behind a tree when i see them try to hide or put up shield.

But i also like to sneak upon a strong enemy like a DK and use vampire feed on them. When done feeding hide and run away. I got your blood, your mine now.

Sneak into an enemy siege unit and set the sieges on fire using stealth. Don't attack enemies, just sneak, hide and burn.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I wouldn't call that freaking out. It is the irresistible must kill solo guy syndrome. It is the same thing that makes zergs chase the puny streaking sorc for miles and miles.
For me the mark is just giving away the stealth advantage.

It's the not attacking them that makes it fun, imo. In that situation you don't care if they know you are there, or if they can block, because you have no intention of actually killing them. Just toying with them a bit. I love burning camps repeatedly for a few minutes, then I just sit back and watch them tossing caltrops and that templar spear thing wildly about for the next ten minutes, knowing that no one is trying to burn their camp. The other night I actually got five people to withdraw from a siege and do nothing at all but walk circles around their camp for 15 minutes. I never even attacked any of them. Hilarious.
