Should we trust all ESO addons

There are some pretty amazing addons out there for ESO, and I love to play around with them. I download new ones on a weekly basis, and remove the ones I do not like.

Now, my question is if this is safe to do. I wonder if there could be some code in an addon that will secretly mail certain items, like rare motifs, to the owner of the creator. I mean how well is your character protected against addons.

The reason behind this question is that I stopped finding motifs for a while now. A change in droprates etc might as well be the cause, but it did made me question if all addons could be trusted blindly.

Motif drop rate was decreased I think. Right around 1.4.

At lease that is what I hear.

The add on's can not interfere with the game like that. Drop rates are purely on ZOS side. Addons usually just look at whats already going on behind the scenes and brings it to the screen. So yes it is safe.

The only way an addon would "hide" a motif drop is if you have one of the Loot Filter ones to hide trash. I have not used one of these so I don't know if the stuff goes to trash or is just ignored, but that does not matter.

As to Motifs, I have found more than 20 of them in the last week, mostly in two buildings for one character (Wayrest Treasury and Castle), and one building for the other two characters (Bank in Stormhold). I have found a few in other places along the way. I am not going nuts with the farming, just hitting these buildings at each log in on for my characters. I find them in both the Leveling Zones and VR Instances.

So, Motifs are dropping quite often for me. I can't say if the rate is higher or lower now as I have not farmed for Motifs in a couple of months (my crafters know them all and I am looking for Gold/Purple ones now) If you want any Motifs , PM me in the game, I have a bunch for sale in the Guild Stores and sitting in an Alt's bag. These are the normal Blue ones. 200 Gold each

I assume they can do some nasty things , but then again i can only assume i never saw them doing anything they shouldnt.

Example: I use the bank manager ADDON , each time i go to the bank it picks the items i have and sorts it out , deposit and withdraw , now i assume it could just delete everything also , no reason the addon cant have a keypress in case the game even asks for each item for authorization.

After a patch, I will be careful with my addons, as the Research Assistant gave me the wrong information and I ended up deconning things I was saving for research. But, I could have avoided that if I was paying more attention.
