What's your system setup? PvP has a lot of high particle spammers, so maybe your video card cannot handle it.

The OP did sag this was happening since the last patch, so we should assume his video card did not suddenly stop working, eh? I also noticed increased crashing in Cyrodiil. Not just myself, but twice today at least half of my large group crashed out. Also the enemy did as well. I'm sure not all their video cards were suddenly obseleted either.

I wasn't imply it did, just saying that the with the patch the op could have gotten more particles than it can handle, or perhaps another memory dump was added to the game due to poor testing of an update to code.

I had a similar, but different issue with my old computer and Age of Empires 3 expansion that added indian tribes. The indian tribes used more sound streams than the original nations and this would overload my soundcard and crash the game.

Well I can tell you it is not a resource issue, I crash now too. I run a 780ti, 12 Gigs of Ram, a ROG Rampage 4 MOB, and the game is on a SSD. I still get crashes. In fact I even crashed just loading the [snip] game today.

Is it a 1st world, or a 3rd world problem? If its 3rd world problem then you have a real problem, other wise its just an inconvenience.

Basically crashes and says eso has stopped working, this is when there is a large scale battle, never had any problems with this before.

Infact when they first brought out the PFX its was awsome, then they did a patch after that and thats when it went down hill from there.

Maybe we can figure out a temporary work around.

Have you tried turning down particle effects and your video settings in general? Turn off shadows and light effects and that kind of thing and then test it in PvP.

I would almost be tempted to just run it on the lowest setting possible with all the sparkly whoozit effects turned off and see how it performs. Then you can bump up the graphics a bit at a time to see exactly when it starts crashing. Doing that could also help ZOS figure out what's going wrong on their end.

The only other thing I can possibly suggest is to make sure your graphics drivers are all updated.

It's not just you . The performance is Cyrodill since the last patch has been horrendous. Even when not crashing the lag is so bad it is like PvPing through quicksand.

Everyday is a new day and with it comes a new Cryrodill bug. Last night couldn't mount at all and was forced crash several times to fix it. Can't log out to fix these bugs of course, otherwise you get stuck in the queue.

Amazing that after 6 months in, the performance is this poor.

Or, if you are already running the latest graphics driver then try rolling back to a significantly older one which may prove more stable than a brand new one, especially if the new one is beta.

It really doesnt help things when everytime i go into the game my setting are changed, whats that about.

  • DuelWieldingCheesyPoofs
I believe the issues lay with eso, its unlikely my pc dies and springs to life one month to the next, with that said i find the frustration i experience from these issues far out ways the fun.

I feel pvp will continue to be unstable and inconsistent from one patch to the next. Given the lack of useful customer support i will choose to pvp in other games, especially seen as though there is a pattern emerging of fix/break/fix.

i understand this is a complex game and there for wont be fixed any time soon.

I have the exact same rig and have had a terrible time since patch also. Maybe our card is the problem? The one thing I have been doing that has greatly improve the performance is after logging in I set the priority in the task manager to high. This has stopped the freezing and crashing for me.
  • DuelWieldingCheesyPoofs
I willing to give that a try thanks for the tip.

but as i said, its unlikely my gfx card dies and resurrects from one month to the next and at the exact same time patches are pushed out.

exactly what you said, the performance 6 months in is the reason i have no faith. If i manage to solve my issue, its only a matter of time, usually 4 weeks before i have to start my trouble shooting all over again.

Crashing isn't always associated with your video card. Make sure NOTHING is overclocked. Not your cpu, memory or video card. You must do this in order to weed out OC issues especially associated with memory management.

When you play a game you aren't just seeing things generated by your video card. You also hear things. Sound cards and their drivers are also commonly the issue and NOT just your video card and drivers.

Check you power management options and make sure the total environment for systems associated with gaming is running on high priority.

You may have to go as far as complete removal (registry level) or drivers and software that affect the game (obviously the game itself) and ensure to test your memory and mass storage option for integrity. Investigate bios updates and what they fix. Investigate manufacturer mobo updates. Investigate bios settings. Investigate firmware updates for everything. Run chkdsk.

Sadly when it comes to system crashes even mainly associated with one type of software you have to investigate systemically to ensure the issue isn't just with that software.

A long time ago I was running factory overclocked memory (NEVER buy that crap. Buy quality standard clocked memory that leaves options for manual oc.) and it would only cause issues when playing mmos as no other software I ran would utilize memory to such a degree and wouldn't reveal issues. It is easy to simply blame the game.

All that said I am aware that especially pvp in ESO is having serious issues that simply cannot be resolved client side.

i appreciate the info and thank you for your time writing all this, but i still come to the same point,

the chances of my pc changing its setting by its self then changing back again from month to month at the exact same time as patches are pushed is un likely.

in not trying to be sarcastic there, im just simply stating nothing has changed with my pc, and one month its great and then the next really awful, at the exact same time patches are pushed.
