I would pay $5.00 for a Vanity pet under the condition I could just get the in-game pet. I would not be willing to buy some stuffed animal or other piece of swag to "get the code as a benefit."

Much as the chap above says - as long as it's just the pet and one that I really want (cat, spider, guar, etc). Much as I actually wanted the guar plush, I was not prepared to pay twice as much as Americans just because ZOS don't market it properly world-wide. Hey, there's a whole other rest of the planet out there beyond America, you know!
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

NO!!! We pay a sub every thing should be available in game. That's why I'm against the imperial edition or buying anything associated with a code. I was going to buy a Guar plush until I found out it had a vanity pet with it. To me that's crap. Save that **** for the F2P crowd. They are used to spending extra money on crap.

I never would but I know quite a few friends and guild mates from other MMO's over the years who happily spend real money on vanity pets.

How about we encourage the developers to place pets and other cosmetic bonuses at the end of engaging, challenging content that's fun to play?

No. I have in b2p games like GW2, but that didn't have a sub. Paying for pets should not be in a game with a sub as then it's just double dipping. IN a sub game pets should be obtainable in game with in game currency or earned as part of quests.

There should be ways to earn a pet ingame. Why not add one as a reward for collectible achievements for example? They are hard enough to complete. Or another one for completing 40 group dungeons (would add an incentive for people to do them)?

Pets that just say "look, I paid 10$ to get this" or "look I was at that or that convention" introduce out of game elements into a virtual online world and really are immersion -breaking. Cosmetic updates for real money are a free to play thing that are needed there to make money. There's no reason to have them in a subscription-based game (the Palomino horse already was a step in the wrong direction, but I can accept that because it was also a measure to fight RMT even though some *not very intelligent people* still bought gold for real money risking to lose their account only so they can buy a single horse in game while they could have bought a legit horse on all of their characters for the same price directly from ZOS).

I would, depending on the pet. Price acceptability would fluctuate as well, 2-10 probably.

Would pay money for one, only so long as it was useful in the game.

In Skyrim, a purchased war dog was useful.

Usually i would agree with you , but that is not how zen runs this show.

The steam dog , the pig , the guar and the other one i forgot what is it are all here to show that they keep adding multiple pets that all/a great majority of player here since day 1 wont ever get anyway.

And they are also already selling a horse , which means they do plan to sell stuff that looks different on the store.

I would. But then I have more discretionary income than some people. So spending 5-15 dollars for pets/mounts/goodies isn't a hardship for me.

I bought the Palomino horse from the store and I also bought the Guar plushie.

Heck, I would pay $50 for a chance to have a Dye Station type apparatus that applied to Horses!!

It would be rocking cool to be able to visit a stable and be able to pick and choose colors, gear, armor, etc., for my horse.

I see nothing wrong with a company having vanity items that are available as extras that cost money.

As long as they remain vanity items, since they have no direct outcome on the game itself.

I think vanity pets are the most useless thing ever invented by mankind.

If it can't fight with me or aid me in some way --- I have ABSOLUTELY no use for it.

I just see no point to having some " creature " following me around doing NOTHING.
    If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

But everyone would try to steal it, and I have a feeling the guards wont be any help at all in getting it back. They'd like, just throw around some sort of sarcastic comment or something.

No! There is a reason that we pay a sub! Not to be "nickel and dime to death" Also, the new pet is NOT that lore friendly -- It belongs in Skyrim, not on hot sands of Hammerfall.

    Pets are content
    Subs pay for ALL content!
Thus, they are included under the sub fee.

but i changed my mind and is no option to change my vote, so i will write here what i would pay for.

i would pay $50.00 US dollars for the red "ancestor wraith" that comes out of the morph from the "fear trap" skill in the nighblade skill as a perminant pet as long as he is able to help me and fight with me in both pve and especially in pvp.

i even made a thread about it long before we got our ice wraith pet

I hope vanity pets never hold a function besides being purely for looks. Hence "vanity", as opposed to "utility".

Shrug, it's along the same lines as cosmetic clothing, dye, or even armor sets. If vanity wasn't important we could just all share the same character model that have different stats based on our graphically identical armor.

I don't even use the vanity items I got (monkey, scuttler, razak toy spider, and now ice wraith). They annoy me on my characters and on other's characters, specially in banks. So they will spend their existence in an alt's inventory until I need the space.

People displaying vanity items are people I'm not inclined to offer assistance to, as are people with lore-breaking names.

Otherwise it goes into storage, like my Ice Wraith pet, My Scuttler Pet, and my Monkey Pet.

    I already have, so...

My limit is the same as Soloeus's, $5 just for the pet. I might buy a pet attached to a plushie/figurine/whatever if I actually like said plushie, but I believe all pets should be available as standalone as well. And we definitely need more pets we can acquire simply by playing the game.

No, but I would pay $25 for a flying mount. :)

OK, lore implications and the fact you wouldn't have to pay if they implemented it aside, here are some things I MIGHT pay for:
    • Character faction change.
    • Character re-customization.
    • More character slots.
    • More bank/guild bank/bag space.
    • The ability to have more than 5 guilds.

Not to derailt he thread, but on the topic of things I wouldn't necessarily pay for but more feel should be included in the game at some point:
    • The ability to use one character's stabled horses on another character.
    • The ability to morph class skills into unique stamina-based abilities.
    • In-game voice chat support to counter guild cronyism.

    And so many more...
