Your screenshot format take up a LOT of memory

I just cleared out 2gb of memory deleting my ESO screenshots and there weren't that many of them, around 250 or so. I had to convert many of them into jpg before deleting the whole thing, it's now a fraction of that, but geez your screenshots don't even seem like it's that great of a quality shot, why use that format type?

Use Fraps instead of the built-in screenshot key. Fraps .jpg format saves the screenshot to a file that is maybe 200 kb in size instead of 2.5 MB each.

Nah...you can change how ESO saves screenshots.

    1. Goto My Documents
    2. Goto The Elder Scrolls Folder
    3. Click on the LIVE Folder
    4. Double click the UserSettings TXT document
    5. Open it in notepad/wordpad.
    6. On the 11th line from the top, replace SET ScreenshotFormat "BMP" with SET ScreenshotFormat "JPG"
    7. Save
    8. Rejoice!

PNG is working also for a mid ground between BMP and JPG on both size and quality.

What's 2GB nowadays? 1/2000 of one out of nine of my hard drives.

    *takes 250 screenshots*

*wonders why they take up 2GB*

I have secondary 1TB drive where I store all the screenshots. More than 1400 of them since January beta. :D all in BMP

Is there a way to change the screenshot folder to a different location? I just reinstalled Windows7 + TESO and the documents folder was, for some reason, put in my C:\Users\AdminUserAccount this time. And since I sceenshot a lot of RP dialogue for later RP purposes I'd like to access it from my normal user account (non-admin rights).

You need to move the My Documents Folder to move what is inside of it. But, this will cause everything intended for My Documents to move also. Quite frankly, this is a good idea with SSD drives as it cuts down on the R/W operations

You can also move your Temporary Internet Files, Temp Files and Mozilla Profiles to another drive.

I do this so that my SSD only has the OS install and the programs on it. All the other stuff that is written and re-written all the time gets sent to a platter based 1TB drive I have.

Thanks. I'm not sure this is what I'm looking for though. I don't really want to put it on another drive or partition, I just want to access it from my non-admin user account. Which is on the same drive, same drive/partition, just another windows account.

Is there no way to choose the location by telling TESO to use another folder? Or to prevent TESO from installing it to my admin folder the next time? I wasn't logged in as admin when I installed it. Last time I re-installed it this didn't happen.

Don't call it memory. It makes my mild obsessive-compulsive tendencies want to strangle you through the internet.

Oh, but yeah, you can change it, so that's awesome. I keep a dedicated 2TB media drive for screenshots, Fraps recording, etc, but I understand that's not an option for everyone.
