    The lag problem is definitely due to the number of players and not abilities. I run with a large group that sometimes is so large, we break into 2 or 3 large groups.

    When we're 24 or less traveling to our next mission, I see no lag. When we're 60+ with no enemy or NPCs around, the lag is noticeable.

    I put the blame on fast-travel. If you're keep is under attack, nearly every player in your faction can blood port there in a minutes.

    Yes, ZOS needs to work on performance, but if they can stop the blood porting, we'll see each factions' population spread out more evenly across Cyrodiil. Once that is fixed, I'd like to see a longer delay for when a captured keep is added to your faction's transit network.

    Last night, 9/27, by 3am in the morning with only 2 bars of EP, 2 bars of AD, and 1 bar of DC, Thornblade was still lagging badly. We were seeing multiple instances of rubberbanding back and forth.

    How does this happen even with 5 total bars of population?

    How does this happen even with 5 total bars of population?

    My guess is that their server load balancing projections didn't account for a relatively sudden and massive influx of normally PVE players into PVP all at about the same time as they exhausted available PVE and started looking for an "end game."

    There was probably only so much practical overlap they could account for without risking performance issues in PVE when PVP got rolling, and since the numbers consistently show an average 30% of players are "into PVP" in MMO's, they took the risk and made the decision to hard-cap the server pool available to handle increasing demand in PVP.

    They need to juggle the plates long enough to make back some investment capital and secure future profitability in order to justify the massive expenditure on the amount of additional server farm hardware that would be needed to streamline PVP.

    Coding changes like removing AOE caps (which will only cause more problems with ultimate generation and calculation of resistance and crit for more targets) can only marginally improve the situation without adequate hardware.

    To summarize:
    • The current server architecture can't handle the load.
    • They need to buy more servers.
    • They needed to make money before buying more servers.
    • They needed to buy more servers to ensure they will continue making money.

    Ain't economics fun?

    I concur. It sounds like a load balancing issue or a bottleneck at the network level. I've seen this in business applications where you have very little database activity, but users are complaining of poor performance.

    And Thornblade just crashed again due to the heavy fighting between AD/DC at Glademist.

    EDIT: To make it worse, Altadoon teleported from Glademist to Altadoon temple. They had just taken Glademist, NiMohk gate opened, and then crashed. The scroll had not been taken off the pedestal yet.

    Now AD isn't required to run it back to the temple across Cyro

    Yea, when the server crashes, the scrolls can move locations? Good job captain obvious.

    That was the server lag, not your play skills.. Sorry to break it to you.

    No matter that I lost a rank from the rollback, and haven't been able to get back in due to client crashes combined with endless queue! Because we got the scroll... yay.

    Definitely been an exercise in frustration this evening. I logged a ticket and everything. It has to get pretty bad before I resort to that. :( Two server crashes, countless client crashes, and when I do manage to stay logged in, it's a lovely lagfest. I am not sure if staying in a group or going solo makes a difference because I am not waiting for the queue to test it. Time for Netflix!

    DC has our condolences. We lost a scroll the other day like that. You deserve the chance to try to stop the scroll train or at least get your keep back while the scroll train is moving.

    That it's actively impacting map status is aggravating at best, infuriating at worst.

    No actually its is being caused by both its the mechanics of healing and many other abilties having to constantly being in check...

    I'm done with Thornblade for a while. I finally got through the queue, went to defend one of our keeps, crashed approaching the keep, logged back in, took literally one step, and crashed again, repeat until siege ended. As soon as I could I got the *** out of there and I'm not going back. It might be less infuriating if there was anyway to end that *** cycle once it starts, like a return home button on the character select screen, but nope. You're just trapped.

    Why anyone would move campaigns for the next dew days is beyond stupid.

    Once the campaigns reset in 4 days people may spread to 2nd 30 day as well but that is VERY doubtful as that would then make both servers very low on population.

    The main issue is that there have just been too many people leaving the game that PvP due to ZOS's apparent could not give a rats ... about PvP and don't deal with issues, even a snails pace.

    Complete lack of feedback regarding the current problems in PvP just push people away. Who in the world wants to pay to play a game that you cannot play ? (login run off to x keep crash eventually get back into game and repeat)

    Every Patch that has been released has made PvP worse and worse.
    Pay to not play
    Zerging with No counters
    Server crashes
    Roll backs
    Class imbalance
    resto/destro only way to play but play like you want (not)

    That game does not interest me, unfortunately.

    I know it's a matter of preference but I don't care to much for Archeage, but I get why people would. I just hope they can get the horrible spam problem under control.

    Anyways, like @Kirsika‌ said still getting server crashes in PVP. I really just wish ZOS would at least acknowledge the problem.

    When I evaluate MMOs I set aside that kind of stuff, like the gold spam. Remember how bad it was in this game? The AA forums blew up for weeks about the server queues (I literally sat in queue one night for hours) but I think we're up to 11 servers now and they still have queues, just not as bad. At least the population is healthy.

    The notable thing here is that it's a free game.

    Overall I am just a big sandbox fan. Anyone who is the same or pre-NGE SWG players, you are going to absolutely love The Repopulation when that launches. Alpha is great.

    I don't hold the gold spam against ArcheAge, I just hope the devs can tackle it. I know it's got to be a lot harder to with a F2P game. I do think the sandbox element of ArcheAge is extremely cool. I just couldn't get into the atmosphere, and combat. Different strokes for different folks. But like I said I easily see why some people enjoy it a lot.

    Half of Aldmeri Vice unsubbed tonight. Play out whatever is left, and then we are probably done. Most of us cant justify paying for a game that frustrates more than it entertains.

    Our PvP session tonight literally sounded like this:
