What dose Direct X have to do with it? ES games on PS3 have had their fair share of bugs. The Mac version of ESO suffers from the same bugs and uses Open GL. You can run ESO on Windows using Open GL, the only thing that will change is your frame rate will drop by about 20%.
Because I don't remember the bugs to be this bad for arena/daggerfall running in DOS
With windows, came direct X...direct correlation there it seems.
I don't have any major issues with ESO, other than the server crashes in Cyrodiil. Plus many, many games run just fine that use Direct X on Windows. I wouldn't consider 3 months a real veteran, how about something for people like me, those who signed up for beta testing at the start of 2013, and has the most cumulative experience with Beta and have been with the game since release.

With the Ice Wraith, I think it's more about communication. We got an email promising the loyalty reward, but AFAIK only a few forum posts about a delay-actually no official posts, only replies buried in complaint threads. To me it is a mistake to announce something with fanfare, then hide in the shadows when they can't deliver.
I think ZOS needs to really rethink the whole pets idea. I see fewer and fewer players actually using them, which says a lot about what players think of pets. I have little interest in something that does not help my game play. I think it's fine if other players like the pets. But I am not looking forward to shops and banks when the Ice Wraith lands. I don't want them in my face.
The thing is, most of the pets just kind of suck. Even the "rare" ones. Seriously, a pig? No thanks. A freakin crab? Sorry, that's dinner, not my pal. That creepy little scuttler thing? Just...ew. The wolfhand has a TERRIBLE face. Gibblets and the other dogs based off him in the game look pretty awesome. I desperately want a black one. I was among the extremely annoyed over the wolfhound...until I saw it. It's just really badly done. This Ice Wraith? Just...why? It's ugly. It's not a PET. Heh , there is no reason whatsoever to be thankful to zen, the reason this is even happening is:
First zen proved they are brainless by adding the steam dog , which was such a *** move , probably anyone who understands ANYTHING about a MMO could have noticed , but ofc zen lacks anyone like that , thus that happened.
Then people ofc complained , which was quite obvious that would happen. During those complains it was said to zen multiple times by multiple players how stupid that was and how you giving things only to your new players would only actually incentive people to quit their game when they lost some of their desire to play.
Zen might not have one actually talented worker on their lead team , but with enough feedback even them by now notice the amount of complain about their game and the simple reality that people are more and more comming to complain about the lack of content (which is great part is also part of their own stupidity , not something that had to happen) , then this comes along.
This is nothing but an attempt to keep subs while trying to make some good PR for the dog mess they made and i personally dont see why to be thankful to someone who is only trying to clean their on mess in the first place. This was not even their idea , but proves that if enough people hit them on the head something might actually get in there.
If anything i would say one of them few teams that im actually thankful for is the support team who must try to handle the mess the devs do and help people with issues and to the mods who are the people that actually check the feedback and take some of it to the devs , because the devs and up only look at reddit themselves.
My point is still that not many mmo company is recognize that the have loyal customer you can say whatevery you want about but fact is still there many other mmo company don't gave rat ass about there customer at all at least Zen is try show that the are grateful that the have loyal customer.
So yeah dog was not smart move but again we who was here in beta got monkey which the who buy steam version wont get.
This must be your first mmo, the last 7 ive played all have had rewards... Just saying.

Sadly this...I love the non combat pets in MMOs even though they might not serve any purpose but I find they're just fun to have around, hard to explain but I usually always have a pet following me around but I do hate the fact that they take up a bag slot.
A lot of MMOs have improved over the years with account-wide features like this, especially pets, the account-wide system is obviously already in the game because dyes are account-wide so I hope to see pets as well.
I don't mind mounts being single character since we basically learn those and they don't take up a slot, I don't know if it's like that for more than one mount, I never had more than one mount.
I heard something about Zenimax making them learnable/account-wide but not sure if that's just a rumor or not.0 -
Tyr✭✭✭✭I don't know about when the Ice-wraith is coming for sure, but you can get the pig on ebay for under 5 USD and you'll actually be able to get the wolfhound with the symbiote Nord figurine that was announced on the ESO live on saturday probably for 30 USD.
If you want all the pets so far in game you'll need to spend ~100 USD plus have the beta and pre-order and CE pets.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭i want my pet to actually help me in combat. would be perfect for me as a duel wield nightblade to have a constant pet that can stealth with me and help me fight.
a great example to this is on the "fear skill" -morph- there is a morph we can take with fear that allows us to set a trap that once entered has a very evil looking wraith emerge out of it. I LOVE THAT THING!
now if i could have that red death wraith as a constant pet. omg that would be soo awesome especially if he could help me in both pvp and pve. that would be so awesome of a pet!
