Does the rain look different these days?

I know, I know, that sounds like one of those questions people ask after eating too many hash brownies, but seriously... it used to be that when it rained in the game, you could actually see the drops hitting certain ground surfaces, especially near light sources. It's a minor thing, of course, but I loved that effect! Has anyone else noticed this?

I saw the rain drops on the ground this weekend in a couple of places. It is not as noticeable as before, perhaps they toned down the rain frequency. I used to only notice it raining if I looked down at the ground and it was amazing how many times it was raining.

Then again, I am not in the zones where it rains or should rain a lot lately, so that could have something to do with it.

Which begs the question, is the rain rate different per zone? I mean the Alikir Desert and Rivenspire strike me as two places where it should not rain that often, but Shadowfen and Grahtwood and, well, most of the AD zones, it should rain more often.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yeah, it was in Shadowfen that I noticed this the most. Thanks for the input, btw.

Maybe the initial excitement has begun to wear off?
