I've joined my main guild (Imperial Trading Company) and became an officer way before the game went live. I tend to be unsocial with people I don't know, so I joined the guild very early to get to know them in advance. Now, despite it being a trade guild, we've got a bunch of regular socializers, guild dungeons, guild raids and so on. I'm in another 4 guilds, but only in 2 of them (Reddithium and Meridia's Light) I see socialization going on. If there was a global AH and the guild were just social bodies, I agree it would be better, but the amount of socialization going on in a guild really is a matter of good officers and social player-base.

So, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here. I literally know no one in any of my guilds, no one talks, no one seems to know each other and it's really just there to buy and sell.

Why did ZOS implement the guild system this way? Wouldn't it be better to just have a central AH, be a member of one guild that you choose?

Sounds like you are in all trade guilds? I see a lot of casual guilds, you need to reshuffle it looks like.

5 guilds is good, I would be in 10 if I could be. I have one real guild and 4 trade.

I would also like a central auction house to promote economic fluctuation of goods without hassle. This isn't really related to the argument you made though about guild socialization.

    Bait and Switch.

I am currently in 4 guilds. 1 is just for bank purposes, the other three are RP guilds. The largest one also works as a Trade Guild. There are times I wish they were not so chatty. If you're DC on the NA server, check Covenant Collective, especially if you love RP. It's a friendly bunch.

OMG you're right!! My bane has always been gold sellers. They should create more generic crappy games like this one.. All to fight the gold sellers. Which I could give two lumps of turd about.

In reality. Gold sellers and bots don't bother here because the game sucks. Not enough market for gold sellers. LMAO, there's another idea. Make the games suck and make them very generic, so no one wants to subscribe. GOLD Seller tears in harvest. I win the internet. Just make games suck and you don't have to worry about anyone selling gold..

I agree with the other posters, if you are putting yourself out there and are not getting any responses then maybe you're in the wrong guilds.

"I am in 4 guilds. I talk to no one." Referring to your own words, you are the cause of your own dilemma. If you want a more social guild, be more social.

Its like watching someone get hurt and you scream "Why isn't anyone helping" as you stand beside them. Its a hypocritical statement.

If you wish to get to know people, then simply get to know them. But find yourself a good home guild. If you are in 4 guilds that you are nothing more that an number and items in their store, don't expect to have a social guild. Most of these guilds with a 5-7 days policy rotate a lot of people and their function is not really to get to know one another, but rather stock a store.

But sometimes is hard as well. I always try to be social in my guilds but is dreadful when no one replies.

I'm in 5 guilds, well 4 trade guilds and an all around guild. One guild has 500 members, but i'm the only member who has been on in 3 months (Yes, i'm too lazy to deal with taking over the guild or swapping, yet). My other 3 trade guilds have some chatting , but mostly price checks its like being in walmart. My main guild is the NA/AD Reddit guild Reddithium which is a reboot because of some internal issues. Most of these guys talk and a ready to help, but there is still some shy ones which is fine.

I say there is a lot of issues with guilds that ZoS needs to work out, but would recommend surfing the guild boards to fine one you like a take it for a test drive. You can always change again.

I have gone through the same thing that @je25ffb14_ESO‌, @Arizona_Willie‌ and some others have said and I have found it extremely aggravating.

I hate to go all cliché and jump at you like every other GM who reads your title has and will, but I run a guild that I created with this specific idea solely in mind and we pride ourselves on the fact that (almost) everybody talks, helps each other, is all 'guild pride' and are active. Our primary goal is for our guild to be a tool and a community for players to use to enhance their in game experience whether it be via grouping, trading or just plain chatting in gchat.

I used to be an officer in an old guild which I took over when the GM went inactive, but months after that fact (specifically with Update 3) it became impossible to not have me as GM. So we are, as of today, still re-growing from new, but we have a store and everything already and soon will have a lot more resources available like TS and things. We also do occasional contests with prizes as well as group events. We literally have members big into fishing, RP, pvp, group dungeon runs, everything. Some who joined for the chat.

If anyone here is feeling like they're joining guilds full to the brim with drones and are getting little to no benefit and no one is active, please feel free to send a whisper or mail to my @UserID in game. It is the same as my name on these forums and we will take you in if you'd like to join us.

Trade guilds often don't say much.

And if they don't reply to you, talk a little trash. I usually call them something like dirty argonians and that I wouldn't expect snake people to talk anyways. It usually brings a couple of them out lol.

I've actually been having a hard time finding a good guild (aside from trade guilds).

My original guild died off after all of the leadership quit. I've tried a couple since but they've all be very small (not a huge issue) and lower level. I just finished Caldwell's gold.. so it's been kind of boring when everyone else is ~50-VR2.

I've also noticed a huge drop off in guild recruitment. No one seems to be recruiting any more..maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.
