PvP in a nutshell

So after seeing all the post on the alliance war forums let me see if i got PvP straight. All the severs except Thornblade are just buff severs to the Dominion or Covenant and Thornblade is unplayable due to the lag, crashes, and zergs cheating/skill abusing causing players to rage. Is this PvP in a nutshell or I get it wrong?

You can still play for hours each night on Thornblade. During certain fights, you will encounter some crashes and lag, but not everything is like this. 75% of the time it's pretty smooth.

I've been in the non-vet campaign for awhile now, and it's been really fun when there are people in. But it's only ever populated on weekends mostly.

Not so many crashes because there just aren't as many people there.

This has pretty much been my experience.

My "home" campaign which I chose for the buffs is always dead, the few stragglers who choose to rebel against the DC there never own anything. My guest campaign Thornblade, is the only real competitive campaign but every time I try and PvP there, I get multiple crashes, or lag severely if I get close to a large battle.

No it is not my computer.

Crash crash crash, rage rage rage, that's PVP in a nutshell.

I don't know how many keeps and scrolls I've seen lost because of crashes and roll-backs.

How are we even suppose to defend stuff when entire raids are sent back to loading screen 5 times per hour. Please ZoS, explain?

time for me to break it down; prepare for whining!!!:D

chillrend: DC buff server. dead. every time someone tries to take something, huge DC force comes to steamroll them.

Hedarus: AD buff server: dead: same as chillrend

Azuras star: when I last went, AD had every thing. don't know how it is now

Thornblade: lag, crashes, queue times, impulse blobing, all that wonderful stuff

Black water blade: when people are on: its fun(do wish EP would stop losing chalman every week. lol. gotta "overthrow" our leaders or something)

So basically what I'm getting from this is hyper-competitive PvPers (generally speaking) ruin PvP by being so obsessed about winning that they (1) exploit the **** out of mechanics and (2) turn all but one of the Veteran-level campaigns into buff campaigns so they can all duke it out on the only remaining, massively-overcrowded veteran campaign?

This pretty much was my experience in Lineage 2, where the PvP was also destroyed by hyper-competitive PvPers.

Blackwater Blade is at least fun on the weekends. At this point I'd pretty much stay non-vet just to avoid Veteran PvP

The issue is the spells for PVE are used in PVP. The zerg ball Batswarm+Firering+pulsar+streak is the problem. In pve those are fine and great for a player to solo. In PVP they become the ONLY means to win now. Group of 6 of those spamming can decimate a whole faction while lagging the whole zone.

Silver bolts do NOTHING because you can t even fire them due to skill lag...while the zerg ball has AOE immunity and THEIR AOE is able to go through.

This is very poor design and very poor testing overall for Cyrodiil.

Bolt escape allows the sorc to port away WITH THE FREAKING TALONS still attached to the earth WTF
Shields staking one shots you, CMD does not take you out of CC and if it does you get immediately CCed to death in the same second. Invisilble batswarms.
People with infinite health exploiting to take zero damage. A stealthed bow to the face and nothing...not a dent

Something is hitting you and BAM you are dead then the enemy player appear and your death recap has tons of error noises in the background because that is the server catching up. You try to rush to the inner door only to be massacred in front of it because it take 5 seconds to go through the freaking door that you are dead before you can.

In WOW the badies were the bad players. In Cyrodill he badies are the devs who sold a game based on large battles only to deliver a painful experience in frustration. I think I have 13 days left until my sub expires...I honestly don t expect anything whatsoever from ZOS regarding pvp since apparently the team is busy polishing their...pve content

I'm fairly new to consistent PvP (was leveling characters and doing PvE stuff) and this is essentially what I've been seeing. I was playing on my DC character in Thornblade tonight and was having some really enjoyable fights against AD and about the time we'd settle into the pace, an AD zerg would roll out spamming AoE and melt us. These same people consistently showed up and while concentrated countering would eventually stop them, they would just wait until all had respawned and do it all over again. I have no issue when I get killed by superior tactics or skill, but running in a conga line spamming these particular abilities ad nauseam which lags me out to the point I can't even try to counter doesn't really count in my book.

I can only hope they do something about it that doesn't involve just nerfing everything to the point the "fun" isn't there anymore. Surely there must be some middle ground.

This stuff right here this is what we need to fix it. In my opinion some stuff does need nerfed but what we really need is DUCK TAPE ! To fix the broken stuff not nerf them. Cause nerfing doesn't fix broken stuff the stuff is still broken which mean players will still abuse and spam them causing other players to rage more cause they got killed by a nerfed broken skill. So question is were are we gonna get 1000 rolls of duck tape?

Pretty much it. Allowing for "buff" servers is pretty stupid. Buffs should apply on home server only.

Perhaps buff servers are silly - but I think that removing them only empowers more the faction that has the greatest numbers on the only remaining server.

Moving towards more zerg rewards and weakening the already outnumbered is not a good direction.

Plus the population imbalance on the only populated server. To be expected tho when they do things that make people wanna quit.
