What has happened with LFG for dungeons?

Almost no one uses it anymore. I recently renewed my sub and was surprised how long it takes to get a dungeon group with LFG. I may get another DPS or a Tank after a while, but whole group ... that's another story.
You either have to spam general chat or stand in front of dungeon entrance and whisper to people around you.
It has never been a good tool, as it was designed and implemented in an hour or two, but I was hoping something changed for the better while I was away.
It has gotten worse. After launch I was able to do all three level appropriate dungeons without much fuss and waiting. Using LFG. Now, I am lucky if I manage to do one of them before my level become too high.
It makes me feel I am playing with just a fraction of players that were there at launch.

No ones ever really used it. Get into guilds and spam chat.

Honestly after using it in FF14 I'm glad it doesn't work and I like not having to use it.

Dont just join a guild and spam - people hate that . Join a good guild and get involved in their groups that way you will get stuff done

The grouping tool is [snip]. Nobody likes it. It needs to be improved.

I have tried for two nights to get a group for any level 41-43 dungeon. Not a sausage. I very much doubt that it's a case of nobody being interested in doing dungeons at that level, so I don't know what's going on

The V1-5 dungeons are OK but that's like saying an oasis in the middle of a desert is a popular hangout

well main problem is theres no reason to do a dungeon again once completed, rewards are crappy, no encentive, especially 1-50 because you out lvl them so quick and there s no scaling.
and secondly, the lfg tool has never worked really wel, and now with almost nobody doing dungeons anymore its kinda useless

I am up for any dungeon on vet mode. I can also help with dungeons for normal mode. @knootewoot on the EU server DC. I also give away free vampire bites twice a week and soon 3 times a week. Got 1 bite ready as i used one yesterday.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

The grouping tool is the worst I've ever seen, it needs a complete overhaul. We would be better served with a list of people lfg and a checkbox system for what they are looking for and manual invites. The current system is just so bad.

Fully agreed with above. We know the improvements for grouping in general have been confirmed by devs but the LFG tool should be at the top of the list to have complete overhaul for the way it works but also to have use not only for dungeons but in Craglorn as well

One of the problems I see with the design of LFG is the way group is put together.
Meaning, the moment the second player is known, LFG makes a group and the two of us are waiting as a partially formed group.
SWTOR does it differently. It makes you wait until whole group is formed until you see who is in your group.

I think that ESO's way is better if you want to chat to your party pals, use chat to find missing members or do some other things while you are waiting for the whole group to form, but I also think SWTOR's way is better if you simply want LFG to find you a group as fast as possible without having to use the addition of chat.

What do you gals and guys think?

i cannot believe i will say this.. /shivers
but in the interests of honesty, best LFG tool is WoW's

no one is packed into a group until all slots are found by the system
system prioritises among classes, for obvious reasons
system considers each individual's waiting time, again obvious reasons
system finally takes into considerations recent kicks
system rewards you for doing it nicely, organised and quiet, rather than kill spamming peoples' general chat tab

    @OP Good topic.

I don't use the feature cuz everyone says it doesn't work, so I just never bothered with it.

I tend to go about the problem a little more organically. I wait to see LFG chat spam then join in and if in the area of a dungeon I'll wait for a bit, but If I dont' get any action within about 10 minutes I move on. I pretty much only want the dungeon for the achievement, skyshard and books if there are any. They are the ONLY lasting rewards. The xp can be gained in other ways so, shrug, meh. I'm not missing or losing anything regarding equipment if I come back at a higher level because the stuff is usually worthless anyway. It typically isn't for my build and even if I picked up something nice, like a blue piece I could use I have to deconstruct it within 3-5 levels as it gets replaced.

What would promote grouping for dungeons? Better loot? Maybe they should introduce some kind of leveling mechanism for items. I'd suggest the crafting tree whereas skills are introduced that allow for upgrading tier to tier. Why the (insert bad word here) not?

Since most of what I wear and use I craft anyway (cuz its better) this wouldn't change a thing. It might stimulate the economy though when people can purchase lower level items they'd like to upscale...just a thought.

I was thinking of starting to do the Craglorn quests. I haven't tried any yet. I am interested in trying the upper Crag ones and wondering if there's a good place to read up on where to start. I don't want a walk-through but just some insight on where's the best place to start and all.

I am thinking of getting 3 others Crag virgins like myself so we can go through it like a bunch of headless chickens, lulz. I have been all through Crag looking for Crux though so I've seen some fight some of the quest mobs and sorta know what to expect.

Probably not on at the same time as you will be, but I just finished my last faction quest and just started Crag. Was a pain, but I managed to solo the first delve. I'm a heavy armor healer/dw build. Willing to fill whatever role I can if I can get some people to roll with.

I get home around midnight, central. Weekends are fair game whenever I'm up. PM me your nametag if that sounds right.

There are a lot of problems with the LFG Tool.

First and foremost, if you over level the dungeon, you can no longer queue for it, with the exclusion of Vet dungeons.

A lot of players are able to overlevel the zone they are in resulting in no longer being able to queue for any in that zone.

The LFG Tool should allow all players, of any level, to queue up for any available dungeon, no matter what their character level.

The tool should then work to match players that are within 5-10 levels of each other for the dungeon.

Until the tool is fixed/changed/tweaked/whatever, you will find that the vast majority of players flat out will not use it.
