Explosion damage

I'm a dragonknight with sword and board and a destro staff and I have no abilities that list explosion in its name but occasionally I'll see a damage called 'explosion' come up on my ftc combat text that does 400+ damage. I'm not sure where this damage comes from, does anyone know?

It's a proc from fire damage that only happens on mobs that are inherently more vulnerable to fire, like certain undead and those tree creatures from the early DC campaign.

I've noticed this too. It seems to be a hidden feature of fire damage triggering on enemies sensitive to fire (most undead, trolls and wooden monsters) doing a great deal of damage and knocking them down.

I've tried to find similar hidden perks for frost and shock damage but i've never seen any.

There seems to be quite a few hidden perks which arent documentated in any way, such as the heavy attack of the restoration staff bringing some magicka back.

This feature was added in the most recent patch 1.4.4

The Restoration staff passive Cycle of Life now increases magicka restore instead of increasing damage.

Resto staff always restored magicka (10% max Magicka pre Patch).
