Bug - Harness Magicka

Harness Magicka has been returning magicka when taking damage from all types for a while now. Is there any intent on fixing this or to take it a step further and fix shield stacking in general? The two concepts go hand in hand due to the first in first out system which allows a buffer on the weaker shields that have utility. Thus causing further class imbalance.

I hope the fix for this will be bundled in with the latter since this is getting out of hand when I can make a damage shield stack for over 3.1k HP without using barrier and it pays for itself with magicka return in addition to possibly healing for huge numbers.

Any chance a representative from Zenimax can let us know if there is a solution to this coming down the pipe?

I thought you're a NB? Other than Healing Ward what else do you have to stack the harness on (if not using barrier) to get to 3.1k?

Anyhow, obviously the bug that returns mgk on every type of hit should be fixed. However, from selfish point of view perhaps, I'd be a bit worried about my Sorc's survivability if the stacking (i.e. utility lasting for the combined shield's life) were to be removed.

I also shield stack on my DK, but there it's more of an "extra cushion", considering I have GDB (which also gets a great heal boost from my shield). For my Sorc it feels as more of a necessity.

Considering I'm getting Focused Aim hits for 2.1k in the middle of combat and most unblocked hits from other players go for around or over 500hp, I think the TTK without stacking would collapse. Less so for my self-healing DK, much more so my Sorc. I think these two classes are now in near-balance with each other and such a change would make my DK stronger again, in comparison always.

To fix the class imbalance, I think NBs need to get their own shield. They're the only class that lacks one and their survivability would be greatly increased with one.

stacking in my experience is just a waste of MP.. Safer to GTFO.

But from all sources? definitly a bug... sounds much like Reflective scales reflecting phyiscal Ranged attacks as well as magical unlike its stated in its description, which only states to reflect magic.

of course we have seen how well ZOS has done to address that oddity so far...

Either Change the descriptions, or change the effects.. i actually think DKs should be able to reflect any ranged.. and i dont even play one generally. my VR3 DK has shown me how weak they really are in terms of fighting at ranged.. and my Sorc has taught me its still quite easy to get past those wings and land a kill in PVP.

I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

Stacking class shield->harness magicka will pay for both the shield costs. Not to mention that you're actively regen'ing magicka during it. If you're low on health and not a templar or dk then class shield->harness magicka->healing ward. You're back at full or nearly full.

Not really the point of the thread but I get what you're saying.

It would make shields and some skills largely useless if shields stop stop stacking. For example, if the small shield from brawler or shielded charge made you immune to other shields, using them would be a liability.

"Small shields" that grant separate benefit yet are protected by a large class shield are the problem. Shield stacking overall is just bad design at this point. Make each shield genuinely practical for it's purpose.

Also, you are not forced to choose those morphs.

A 3.1k HP shield stack is not practical no matter how you slice it... Especially when the sacrifice for casting it... is well nothing.
