Anyone managed to level an alt to VR12? How did you endure the VR grind?

Just wondering if anyone leveled another character to VR12 and if so how did you put up with going through that terrible VR grind again? I have a VR12 NB main and earlier this week I got a Templar to lvl 50. Lvling to 50 was actually pretty fun but now that my XP bar isn't moving anymore I feel very discouraged playing that char, even though I would really like to get it to VR12.

I remember doing the same Craglorn delve boss over and over again on my NB to get the last few VR levels, but I know they nerfed that instance. Is there anything else like that out there? Or would it be better to just hold off playing until the champion points system is released?

You can go back and do all those bosses and quests you missed, and PVP, and the other two factions. Should get you up to VR8-VR10.

Then you only have to grind two more VR levels.

I can't even get my first character there, because I absolutely hate that I have to play the other factions.

I have 3 Dks, VR1,45,24 and a 25 Templar all EP and once I finish the story on the Templar I will probably just be done.

I quite like all three stories, and the Aldmeri Dominion one is my favourite, I like Razum Dar.

Anyone have any thoughts on how the Champion system will reduce the grind? Or is it same grind with a different name? :#

I am actually enjoying my second trip through each of the zones. It helps that I started the alt in a different faction. While the story is the same, the fights are different enough with a different class for me to enjoy it. I also focus on different crafts, which helps make it a fresh experience.

A third alt would probably feel too much like a grind, though. In other TES games the quests have been plentiful, and each new character could do different things, pick different sides, or at least do the quests in a different order. In ESO, every character pretty much has to do all quests in more or less the same order to level up at the right pace.

VR 1 and 2: Dolmens, World Bosses and main quests in VR 1-5 zones.
VR 3-12: Craglorn, with the following methods:
    - Anomalies
    - 3 Bosses
    - Shadow (up to 1 VR per hour if it works)
    - Hircine's Haunt final boss exploit
+ Dolmens, World Bosses and main quests in the VR 6-10 zones.
Doing Craglorn delves and quests for the first time gives good exp too. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a group for these because there's cheap ways to powerlevel (see above).

That's how I would level an alt to VR 12 now, anyway. Maybe there's other methods that are more efficient (I wouldn't use the Hircine's Haunt method 'cause that's an obvious exploit to me) ^^

Working my way through Cadwell's Gold right now, I'm about 40% of the way from VR 7 to VR 8. If I ever feel like like the grind is getting to me, then I head back to Auridon or another low level zone and just hang out on zone chat helping the lower level players while gathering crafting mats and taking down Dolmens. It's worked so far. Another thing that helps is that I'm a also working on a third weapon type and a second armor type. Keeps things fresh.

All you'll have to do of the rival factions will be Cadwells silver and gold, then collect the sky shards. Much easier.

    Not even close.

You'll have to do Cadwell's quests if you want access to all the skyshards, but when the Champion System goes live, Champion levels will be account-wide. So once you hit level 50, you won't need to grind through any content (not that you do now) to be able to go wherever you want. It's why the Champion System has everyone so excited: the game will actually become much more like an open-world Elder Scrolls game once you hit level 50.

Actually, not "maybe or maybe not." That's what they've said about the Champion System in official statements.

VR-grind was ok, as it has become a lot easier with Craglorn and all the nerfs to VR-mobs. Took me about 2 weeks of medicore to hardcore gaming to reach VR12 with my 2nd toon.

Thx to Giny, Sarana, Thaili, Derra, Cherahim, Gloy, Raweelz and Drimacus, you make the game worth playing even with AoE-caps, no usefull progression past Assault / Support Rank 10, and with PvP being not even close to balanced.

Its simple really, since the VR grind isnt grind at all, you can just do it via tons and tons of immersive quests

If you had your fund lvling to 50 again (I certainly do, lvl 45 nightblade now), there is twice as much content awaiting you in VR zones. Ignore the exp bar, the skill lines and new skill points are your real progression

There's no way I can stand to lvl an alt. It was sort of ok lvling 1 character to v12 as I had not done the quests before. But to do the same quests all over again and slowly reach v10. And then to boringly grind out the last 2 lvls by doing the craglorn burial grind. NO thanks, I wont lvl an alt until they get rid of the terrible vet levels.

I have just got my second character to VR. I never thought I would want to level an alt as I didn't want to go through it all again but I bit the bullet and jumped in. For my Alt I pvped a bit and also tried to fast my way through all the quests, not fighting mobs and just getting the quests done. once I hit 38 I was burnt out but someone showed me how to aoe grind and it took about 4 hours to get to 48.i finished the main quest and hit VR ground out vr1 in about 90 mins doing bosses in Crag and im halfway through VR2 which is a long level heh

Got my second character to VR12 the other day, VR10 - VR12 was Cyrodiil, the pve quests helped accumulate decent gold and the 0.7% per quest hand-in was good motivation too, I also did a couple hundred Dark Anchors in the VR10 zone in the hopes of getting unique gear, to zero avail, from VR10 - VR12 respectively.

Having levelled one chracter to VR12 already made this one so much quicker, as I already knew how to do my most efficient single-target and aoe pve builds in order to shave of huge levelling time... That's what I kept telling myself anyway, It helped. PvP breaks, role-play, character development and all that other good stuff in-between helped me focus on developing the creative writing project which is my character as opposed to my previous workings as "make an alt, level it to an odd number, delete it, remake said alt and repeat"

Maybe get some chunks of exp from Cyrodiil? Do some VR dungeons purely for the quests? Only do the quests from Cadwells book-thingy-thing, which detail the quests that give the most exp , in case you're not aware or forgot, yeah.

For many players (especially players from the elder scrolls single player games), the questing, exploration, storyline, etc. is fun. If it is fun, then it is not a grind. If getting to V12 is only objective, then it is going to seem less fun.
It is of course slower then 1-50. Shake up your routine a bit. Do more group dungeons, do a little Cyrodil, make sure you get every world boss and dolmen each zone etc.

No matter how you look at it, even if you enjoy immersive questing or endless dungeons, compared to the first 50 levels, something just makes it feel like a long slow grind, especially now that the VR is pushed out to VR14.

So I won't be rushing to put an alt through.

Since i really liked the DC campaign i would make an alt there. But he would come to a halt once he/she finishes Molag Bal. Because i don't think i want to do the vet quests again. I might use my alt in PvP. I surely won't grind in Craglorn. Did that on my main from V12 to V14 (since i had no quests left and PvP took to long) and it was the worst 3 hours of my life. Man it was boring.
