Im not saying I disagree with the OP - I have only scouted in once to Arena and the loot wasnt great (on normal) we will get there this week hopefully

I noticed many people complaining about v13 gear. Remember that the difference between v13 and v14 is not massive and it is perfectly appropriate to chase a set bonus with v13 gear as opposed to discarding it. In my wishlist I have 5 pieces of Footman to get Neck - 2 rings - Chest and another item that wont conflict with my Whitestrake. Given I'm already deep into the softcaps (and was with my v12 set) it is fine to use v13 set pieces

I'm not discounting what the OP is saying- i am not in a position to at the moment. All I'm saying is its a progression thing by the looks for these set drops and it isnt going to happen quickly and easily. This is normal for an MMO

For now use the V13 for the set bonuses if u like until you get the upgrade.

Or perhaps people are complaining because they want to be geared within a week so they can have nothing to play for

It wasn't so much about increasing the power level of my character (if it came off that way) but just more about risk/reward. I went in there with all legendary equipment (already had a footman V13 set from normal mode, and crafted set a well) So when we slogged through the vet content - which is MUCH more difficult than normal mode just to get standard v14 blues or the same V13 set drops (just purple instead of blue) it was a bit disappointing for the amount of work (and mats/pots) involved in getting through the levels.

It was even more disheartening to hear Alacrity (when they beat it) point out that they got all trash drops from the final reward as well, only one member got the good/unique enchanted weapon.

Just one of those things where, sure, we'll do the arena to try and get the one achievement/victory, but we don't keep re-running it when the drops are not worth it.

Edit: plus the fact you have to be V14 to even play the vet version, it should drop v14 gear.
