Best up to 6 trait set for VR Tank?

G'day guys,

I have been using 5 Song of Lamae 3 Twilight’s Embrace but I was grouped with another tank who swore by the Hist Bark set.

What do you guys think?

Also does anyone have a reliable site to check out the set bonuses, I was using: http://eso-fashion.com/hidden-crafting-stations/#Ebonheart_Pact

but it's all wrong now.

I would say Hist Bark. That or Magnus for ability spam, but I think the mitigation from Hist is better.

Hist bark all the way.
Song of lamae doesn't even proc unless you fall below 30% health, at which point you're probably already having a pretty bad day.

Thought I'd bump this after the set changes.

5 Hist Bark.
4 Vampires Kiss.

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to add that I have had some success with 5x Hist Bark, 4x Night Mother's gaze.
The Hist bark gives the tankiness and dodge ability ( which i really like ), and the Night Mother's Gaze improves your crit chance. Its a pretty deadly combo, depending how you stack it with your other stuff.

Histbark has 2 major buffs for tanks

the 19% chance to not take damage.

The 19% chance to not lose Stam when blocking.

each dodge avoids all damage and blocking costs.. effectively the set is.

19% chance to be completly immune to anything that isnt AOE.

its godly for tanking.

AS good as Histbark is, I am also going to put a vote in for Whitestrake's Retribution. On my Nightblade Tank, it's great. I already regenerate stamina fast enough that a block isn't going to drain me, but since my class has no shields, having a shield pop whenever I get into some trouble really helps me out.

For a Tank, I would go Whitestrakes Retribution 5 piece and Allesia's Bulwark or Hist Bark for the rest.

What I do to pick a set is strip my character of all equipment, and look at the base stats. Then build up what I feel I am lacking in with the crafted sets and Jewelery.

Don't forget the effects Jewelery can have on your character. Have rings and necklace that give Health Regen, then you can skip that crafted set that has that bonus in favor of another one that gives you something you need.
