As per the previous comment, but I'm a Dark Elf with Medium bow/dual wield, due to the fact I intended to become a Vampire with this build, extra resistance to fire.

I'm also still learning what best fits my 'play style' with a NightBlade, as it is not my main character.

Apart from the becoming a vamp part, with which I disagree, I'm doing the same. I'm still undecided which skill tree is best for a dps, assassination or siphoning.

I really wish these perks were an additional customization option and not something tied to a race.

While Khakit seems to be the obvious choice, it's boni are not as awesome as they might seem because there is no content in which you can really make use of both of them. Crit practically doesn't work in pvp against geared people, while stealth attacks don't really happen in pve.

Against this, imperial brings essentially +22% health over Khajit, assuming you max stamina anyway. And it does at least something useful for pure caster builds as well. After that, redguard is a close second, their passive is another free 80%-90% stacking stamina regen, which is quite nice.

Thats a ridiculous question. There is no best race for any class. There are certain racial passives that benefit certain playstyles. But those would be very different for NB tank conpared to NB healer or NB melee

For all magicka-based builds: Breton. Dunmer is good too if you want to play as vamp.

For stamina build, in PVE dps: Redguard, Khajiit
- I think Redguard might outdamage Khajiit by a little due to better sustain, although I don't have any hard data.

For stamina build in PVP: Bosmer, Dunmer
- The Khajiit's crit bonus is entirely negated by a single piece of blue impenetrable armor, so it's not useful. Dunmer if you want to play as vamp.

Orc's are perfect for this role

There's no best class, I think. But given the lore surrounding Khajiit (they are known as sneak thieves) and they fact they have some built in razer sharp claws, it just makes sense that Khajiit would make awesome Nightblades.

As a Bow / DW sniper / assassin, the choices were obviously Bosmer or Kajiit so I went with the Wood Elf because, well ... Bosmer eat Kajiit.

It's a magicka based world...sadly.

I prefer Bosmer for Nightblade.

Great synergy with the Stealthy passive.

Stamina regen from Bosmer + Nightblade means I have 89 Stamina Regen before I even put Medium gear on; in Medium I can spam Stamina skills all day, in Light or Heavy I have great Block and Roll management.

Bonus to max Stamina and poison/disease resistance is the weakest link; however, it adds extra damage and resource management while mitigating some of the impact from enemy archers in PvP.
I don't think it much impacts Meatbag catapults though.
I also personally like being able to go Werewolf without having to sacrifice a ring slot, but that is not directly a Nightblade thing.

I also like Khajiit for Nightblade because they also get Stealthy, but I'm not a huge fan of Health Regeneration as a stat, and Weapon Critical is a pretty limited stat and strongly countered in PvP.

Breton or Altmer; Dunmer are solid for the combo additional Stamina and Magicka and the Flame resist is nice, but the bonus damage is kind of wasted unless you're running DK skills or Destro staff.

I was also under the impression that turning a Dunmer vamp actually canceled the Dunmer resistance before applying the vampire weakness- unless that was a bug.

Argonian Nightblade has worked out wonderfully for me given it syncs so well with the Racial Skills. Plus being a shadow based Argonian makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
