No more loot from Desks, drawers, cabinets etc?
It seems that whenever I open a desk, trunk drawer etc there are no longer ANY loot in them at all - not even lock picks. Did this get nerved massively?

✭✭✭✭✭I am still seeing loot from furniture. In fact, I got my first purple Motif after this last patch.
Log off and then back on again as that will give you a new instance (resetting all the loot containers) and see what happens. Try the bank in Wayrest (lots of furniture to test on) If your not DC, then any manor house will suffice for lots of furniture.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

✭The bank in Daggerfall seems to have most desks and chests spawn empty for me since the patch. There are mostly empty drawers, chests and backpacks also in the bank in Vulkhel Guard. I haven't checked other areas extensively, but in those two places, the difference is very noticeable to me. It's not a big problem, but I would say something changed.

✭✭My DC alt still had this problem in Wayrest early this morning. Every non empty container in the bank of Wayrest has turned empty upon opening it since the patch. My other characters have not encountered this anywhere else.
Edit: others report problems in Daggerfall. My EP vet character likes Daggerfall very much and currently lives in the Bank of Daggerfall. I get lots and lots of loot in the containers there. I only played for about an hour but was in said bank and all chests, desks or cupboards were empty.
Outside in the world while questing they were not empty.1 -
angel59✭✭✭In Wayrest Bank (non-vet) there are 18 desks, chest, nightstands that are empty. There was nothing in any of these. There were 8 that showed empty when targeted and the rest opened to the empty message. This has happened 3 times since I got the update. The problem is most apparent in any City that also contains a Bank ect.Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.1 -

I logged in after the patch, and every container I opened (30+) were empty. WTH? I opened settings, and saw that auto loot was turned on (I have never used the autoloot function, I hate looting worms and crap for fishing). I turned auto loot to OFF. Every container thereafter had items in it. On a whim, I checked my inventory, and it was almost full, including what I can only assume was stuff from the allegedly "empty" containers from earlier. My theory is autoloot was working, and putting the items in my bag and showing the containers as empty? Just my theory.3 -

✭✭✭✭LOL when people on the EU server had this issue a couple of months back, a load of NA players turned out in droves on this forum on threads about it to tell us it was either intended or we were imagining it. Now I hope you understand how frustrating it is.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand - yes getting loads of empty containers (they don't look empty, but when I click on them they change to empty) - I experienced it yesterday in Alik'r and Bangkorai (non vet level) - around 80% of containers I clicked on turned out to be empty (but didn't look empty prior to clicking on them - huge waste of time for players when containers that are empty have the appearance of full containers), but VR1 Daggerfall (with a different character) was OK. ✭✭I noticed that the Wayrest bank empty container issue is listed in the known issues thread in the Developer section.
The problem is not related to auto loot for my character. Looting works normally as it did before in most cases. And no, I have no add-ons so they won't need to be disabled.
I'll do some more running around when I get home on various characters and file some /bug reports if I find other places that are problematic.Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!

Wayrest: It seems out of the buildings I tested all lootables (except produce related) are broken and do not yield items.

In VR2 Stormhaven, within the Wayrest Treasury and the Cloudy Dregs Inn, every single furniture container (desk, cabinet, nightstand, dresser, trunk, etc.) and backpack displayed as having something inside it but was empty when I opened it. In contrast, all of the furniture and backpacks in Wayrest Castle contained lootable items such as lockpicks, style stones, recipes, etc.
At the Cloudy Dregs Inn, the Produce boxes as well as the barrels and other containers which only contain Provisioning items were all full and all of them could be looted
In VR6 Auridon, at the Vulkhel Guard Bank, all of the furniture containers and backpacks contained lootable items.
I would certainly agree that there is an issue with the Wayrest Treasury and Cloudy Dregs Inn.1 -
drkeys143✭✭✭I agree, have found this to be the case too, not picking up any loot anymore from furniture (DC faction, VR and level 15 alt)
In addition, 2 out of 4 locked chests I found yesterday I was able to open without picking.

jacktors11✭✭I am having the same problem for the last two days. I am in Caldwells Gold quest area in Daggerfel. I just reached Wayrest, and every single chest, cabinet, etc.. are showing lootable. But as soon as I click them to open the container, I get the "empty" message. This is extremely frustrating since I love to explore, discover and quest around for loot and treasure. It is even more frustrating that this is happening 5 months into the game.1 -

I would certainly agree that there is an issue with the Wayrest Treasury and Cloudy Dregs Inn.
The Wayrest Mage's and Fighter's guild halls exhibit this behavior as well.1 -

✭✭Played again and it did not happen to me again. I found several provisioning recipes and crafting mats also two blue recipes.
Might had been a coincidence right after the patch went live.1
