Game Capture problem

Having tried out a few different programs for game capture, and not being that keen (quality, output file size etc), I decided to purchase a license for Mirillis Action, having seen good reviews. I'm ashamed to say I bought it right away without trialling it first, and guess what - big mistake!!

I cannot launch ANY game at all, as when Action is running, all games crash at launch. I have been unable to find any help for this online, so thought I would just try this forum in case anyone has come across a similar problem. I am guessing it is something peculiar to my system or settings somewhere, but I have tried everything I could think of, and nothing works.

My system is i5 quad/GTX 680, 16g RAM, windows 8.1 pro x64, all drivers up to date. I have fiddled with the Action settings and also tried things like running in compatibility mode/running as admin, still no joy.

Sorry for the long post, would be grateful if anyone could shine any light here. I have e mailed their support, no response as yet, so just trying to cover all my bases.

Thanks

Since you have a nvidia card, why not use shadowplay? It's free and works well for recoding and streaming game video.

Well I appreciate the suggestion, but at the moment I want to see if I can get 20 quid's worth of software working first :)

I did try shadow play initially actually, can't remember now why I discounted it, unless it limits recording length or something, I think there was a reason I didn't end up using it though

Just an update, I have sorted this issue, and just thought I would post in case anyone else has this in the future - the conflict was with Riva Statistics Server, which I use for the OSD in games, to monitor GPU temp/usage etc, as soon as I disabled it, the video capture software worked like a dream.

Thanks anyway for the one and only reply to this thread :)

Happy adventuring! I am one happy bunny now haha (but I am about to log in to see the new patch changes so all that any change soon!!)
