Is the "No Raids" decision being revisited?

Raids are fine, if they're optional. If best-in-slot gear drops only in raids, they're not optional.
    Snit AD Sorc
    Ratbag AD Warden Tank
    Goblins AD Stamblade

They do have options for 12 and 24 man dungeon groups in the groupfinder.

Rather than instanced raids, I'd like 'raid esque' fights that pop in the world where players could run up and participate. They could require tanks, healers, mechanics to dodge/overcome, but anybody could run up and participate. Odin and Behemoth fights from FFXIV, or a more world friendly Tiamat fight from FFXI come to mind.

    Yap my words.

Open world adventures are what people especially those with strong RL´s are able to do. Forced raiding in a guild however isn't up to date anymore.

I see all through these forums that raiding is dead to gamers ...... that must be why WoW still has the most subs! Pull your heads out of your butts you knuckle dragging door knobs! You can crap all over bliz all you want but you can't deny that they had an amazing game going for a while ... so amazing it was a cultural phenomenon and still has the highest population around. It would seem to me that any idiot could see that some of their systems are what made them so great .... RAIDING being at the top of that list. Any idiot could also play that game and never raid a single day or need to cry about them. Any idiot could play the game for five years then move on and cry about them in other game forums despite the fact that they had fun for years in the game. So why can't ANY idiot see that raids would improve this game? That is assuming of course that they could pull it off properly. This ship is going to sink because it is over loaded with fan boys! You can be a fan of something and still want it to improve FYI.

edit: here I go posting without the proper amount of coffee in me yet .. why my wife avoids me for an hour in the morning! mua ha ha

Obviously everyone is still playing WoW, that's why we're here on the ESO forums...wait. Okay, that seems to not be the case, otherwise we *wouldn't* be here. We'd be there. Raiding, for whatever the scramble for loot that causes in-fighting in guilds and promotes such wonderful comradeship and good feelings that people rage quit.

Raiding is what made the games so great? Raiding for months to get one piece of gear that a majority of people are willing to fight over? Being forced into a character/skill set/gear set that you don't want otherwise you'll be kicked from the raid or guild because you aren't leet enough? Sounds like uber greatness fo me. I can't imagine why subs might be down for them.

The people who want or need the raiding have access to games that have it. This one seems to be trying something different. I guess I'm one of the idiots who would play the game without raiding.

Thanks, by the way, for calling everyone that has a different opinion than yours "knuckle-dragging door knobs","idiots", and "fanboys". Gosh. I can't image why some of the older, more mature, less able to devote hours to endless raiding wouldn't want to be forced to raid with other uber leet all-knowing raid-masters like you. Not that doing things like that reinforce any negative stereotypes us idiot fan boys might have or anything.

Current MMOs have all figured out that raids can drop a form of currency (which by the way can be procured through other content) to buy gear from vendors. Its not always about "leet" this and that guild politics or whatever. Its about fun, challenging encounters, that feature mechanics that can only be overcome by the concerted effort of numerous players in specific builds.

Having choices is a beautiful thing, not advocating otherwise, on the contrary I want MORE choices.

I'm not a fan of WoW whatsoever yet I'd like Raids. Why wouldn't you want the option for them? They would only add to the game, not take away. Some people.. SMH

I've deleted what I wanted to say 4 times because I just didn't want to get into it again. TBH, I don't envy the people at ZOS. This thread is more of an indication of the player base in 2014 than anything else.

All I personally want is end game content that is actually worth doing. What makes it worth doing? Well, not an achievement to get a pretty dye color. Rather, an unlocked ability or passive or something which improves my character. Or a piece of gear which improves my characters effectiveness at whatever role s/he is supposed to perform (tank, heal or dps). You know, character improvement? That whole thing. Same thing you were doing while leveling.

Never cared for large raids, you don't feel heroic at all doing them in fact you just feel like a small cog in a large machine. In large raids it's hard to see a lot of times how you are directly contributing. Small man raids (6-8 people tops) are ideal in my opinion. You get see to a more drastic contribution coming from your character and feel more heroic doing it.

Also I prefer to see player crafted gear be the best you can get. If you are going to do raids and offer rewards find something else to offer besides dropped gear that makes crafted gear obsolete. All that being said I'd prefer not to see raids implemented in this game, never liked them and never will. Other games offer that, play those if you want raiding. This game attracted certain people for what it is instead of what they want it to be. If you happen to be one of those who don't like the game for what it is move on.

If you are a healer you can be a tanks best friend. The new staff makes grand healing also recover stamina :D so they ARE adding stuff like that.

No reason raid bosses could not drop currency used to purchase items that facilitate crafting or armor/weps. Again, choices choices choices. And again, currency could be accumulated through a variety of means, not ONLY raiding.
