Same here, been saying this ever since it was introduced on the closed PTS. It feels like a rushed afterthought and i'd like to see it replaced with something that doesn't involve cross faction questing.bhuismanb16_ESO wrote: »I think the whole "exploring the other factions" bit is BS as well. It's simply an artless and irrational way to triple the amount of PvE content. I said it when they first announced the mechanic, and still say it now.
I often find myself back on the desktop, surfing the web or writing stupid comments in forums.

If I end up in a solo dungeon where the only way out is running the whole path back,

My silly VR3 NB son, also a Vampire, goes invisible a lot and can go pretty near anywhere he wants. Potions of Invisibility are nowhere near as good.
I do it for RP, and because, although I am kinda facerolling Cadwell, it takes time to kill all the monsters. I just go by em'.

You might end up regretting doing this if you're a completionist. My main is a NB and I used to just run Rapid Maneuver and Cloak everywhere. I could stay invisible for over 30 seconds at a time and skipped almost all trash mobs.
I decided to go back and get some of the achievements after I hit VR12 and was way behind on some of the items. I discovered that I had only killed about 100 dwarven constructs and needed 1000, etc. I was this far behind and had done almost everything in the game, but just skipped most of the trash fights.
For me its not the content. I actually enjoy the content. The major hurdle for me is being forced to either grind or do quest on the most tedious leveling in any mmo ive played. ESO was such a nice game until i hit VR 1 and realised i had to do it all over again twice to get to max level. I think the VR levels are the weakest part of ESO.
Sadly, with the lengthy level grind and the raising of level caps, this game is no longer fun for the little casual player.
P.S. Thing is i really enjoyed my level 1-50 experience. Pity the later levels where not as fun.

i don't actually get this. It's a widespread complaint alright.
I have a small army, all 8 slots, and I have played since the beta in January. I know all of AD and most of EP and a lot of DC. I have just as much fun as a VR as I did leveling 1 - 50. My VR is well worked out and I have learned a lot about how to play and it just keeps getting better for me.
I'm not sure what you find tedious but I often laugh out load at this game. It's full of well written dialogue and parts of it are very funny, a lot of it quite subtle.
There are MMOs with better questing?
Doing it through one faction was great but you can tell the game wasn't designed to play through all 3 factions when the quests are just mirrored with different names and scenery.

That's the exact reason I can't stand it anymore. 1-50 was really nice, VR 1-5 was OK, but now the third time it gets tedious.
They could have designed the game so that you reach VR10 maybe already in the beginning of second faction's campaign, so if you're interested in all the stories of all factions you could still do that, but it would be optional...
But still, I'd prefer if the faction story could only be played by starting a character in that faction. Want to save EP from Evil? Well, join the pact!
There is absolutely no reason to force(!) people to play other faction stories as well.
Oh and actually I spend time playing Divinity: Original Sin instead of logging into ESO.... so obviously it's not story content as such that bothers me.
You can say that again... I wanted unlocked Tamriel, but optional for the joy of exploration, not required to level up - and certainly not with mandatory Cadwell's Silver questline just to access the third faction! No VR ranks, level 50 across the board, different kind of progression. That would have been fun. As it is, I'm not questing with my VR char at all, just checking out dolmens, group dungeons, looking for skyshards etc. Exp is still trickling in, just slowly. I don't mind, but I'm worried that Murkmire will be designed for level-capped characters so eventually I will have to go through the grind anyway.Stonesthrow wrote: »You can not say that ZOS doesn't listen… lol… they just tend to bring a canon to a knife fight at times.
