That doesn't necessarily mean this is the way it's supposed to be. Just saying.
When your business is shrinking rapidly because of a bad reputation and a quality problem serious enough to cause discontent even among your most loyal fans, you should focus on keeping those fans and making them recommend your product again, not sucker in new customers by trying to drown out the rumors that spread like wildfire, and not make promises that you cannot keep.
At this point, I think new content and new sales have become less important. Existing contracts are crucial to the survival of the game, both in the short term and in the long term. Smart business decisions do not defy common sense.
