And I am sorry to hear they now have AMA. Or is that attend AMA? I can't keep up with the latest explanations for the human condition. I'm sure pharmacies have a remedy.

I suspect that the reason why ZoS uses Reddit (a 3rd party forum) is simply for the outside exposure and I really think people are reading way too much into it. It's the internet guys... People are people. The only difference is that not all of those on Reddit play ESO amd therefore don't experience some of the aggravation that we do with the game. Hence the complaints here and not on Reddit. Those on Reddit are not more or less mature.

Not true. A majority of those that use the subreddit play the game. A number of people post about issues the game is having, but they often do so constructively. When they don't post constructively it is more actively moderated, either through downvoting (community moderation) or through active moderation from the official moderators of the subreddit. Something this community desperately needs.

The ESO subreddit only appears more mature because:

    1. It's mostly used as a platform for jokes and un-objctionable content. Obviously people are going to be more civil in threads that amount to no more than a screenshot of funny hireling mails.
    2. It's heavily moderated/censored both in terms of actual moderation (moderation by players, never a good idea) and reddit's typical downvote brigade/echo chamber antics.

I liked that we will be getting more background on the Orcs and Argonians in the new zones. The reasoning behind the Orcs joining the Daggerfall Covenant also made some sense.

Works for me. Anything that adds more lore and depth to the game will always get my support.
Very happy about the new mounts too !

That reddit is a considerably better platform to discuss this game than the official forums. Seriously reddit has people who are more mature than the people that frequent these forums. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

There are people who actually tries to make this forum more pleasant.
Not everyone here are immature crybabies you know. :)

A point I have made in a separate post - "The QQ here is tiresome. It's tiresome for those of us who would like to utilise the forums for genuine discussion..." I know there are people here who do like to have mature discussions in an informed environment, but more often than not those same discussions are hijacked by people crying about one thing or another. The ESO subreddit was not too dissimilar before the moderators there cracked down on it all.

Lol, so says the impartial representative of the Official Reddit Guild.

Well spotted, Sherlock. You should be proud of yourself. Doesn't make it any less true. Read the discussions on the ESO subreddit and compare them to the discussions here, then come back and say I am wrong. People are even moaning repeatedly about the fact this AMA was held on reddit. Use your heads guys, there are a number of reasons holding it on reddit makes more sense - not least because a decent proportion of the community prefers to spend their time there and not here, amongst the constant QQ and negativity toward the game.

For someone who's claiming reddit is a friendlier place you should realize you represent reddit while on this forum. Right now I honestly don't get the sense reddit is any better or different from this forum, and you're not helping the matter in the least.

The problem for me is that reddit itself supports some of the vilest content to be found on the internet. I cannot support, or be in any way part of, a site that not only allows but protects sleaze like "upskirt" photos of unsuspecting women and "barely legal" sleaze involving young girls, to name just two of its more repugnant practices. That a professional gaming company like ZOS utilizes this site, when they could very well make their own for these kinds of events, truly sickens me.

Man, you must hate Obama for doing an AMA.

The wonderful thing about Reddit is that there's something for everyone. The terrible thing about Reddit is that you can very easily find out that not everyone shares your viewpoints. Neither of those things have anything to do with how much better-behaved the Reddit ESO community is than the official forum community.

And to correct a few misconceptions from earlier:

Reddit is a better format for AMA discussions, since they're already set up to host those. More importantly this forum is not a means for you to contact the developers. It is a place for players to discuss the game. That's it. You aren't guaranteed contact with any ZO rep through these forums. If you want to guarantee contact with ZO, that's what the ticket system is for. I have had it up to here (trust me, my hand is super-high up there) with people saying that these forums are for contacting the developers. That's never been the purpose of a gaming forum.

as written in the AMA about The 36 Lessons of Vivec being in the game:

    [–]ZOS_LawrenceSchick 26 points 1 day ago
I can't speak for any of the other games, but it hasn't appeared so far in ESO only because it's too damn big for our book format, and I haven't wanted to break it up into bits. Eventually I'll figure out how and where to present it.

Suggestion: Have each sermon on individual scrolls and then have an achievement or quest (both? and of course optional) to go collect them all. An epic quest line given to us by Vivec himself. Thirty-six quests that teach us, or have something to do with each of the individual sermons. Maybe as a reward we get a trophy item of the book with all the sermons together that we could read at our leisure.

Crazy talk for sure, but I love epically long quest chains full of lore with unique rewards at the end.

Hey guys, please remember to keep your comments constructive and on topic about the AmA conversation. Thanks!

Since many of us didn't see it because it was on reddit it's difficult to discuss it in any other way. At the very LEAST you guys should post it in its entirely here on these forums so we can at least see what we missed. If that has already been done... link please?

Lol, isn't that just rude? In every thread, instead of answering OP question or communicating with players, they just tell us to "keep our comments constructive".
How hard can it be to answer once in a while? Maybe hire a special person for that, who will be provided with info on future plans etc. and will share that (if others are too busy or too cool to talk to us)?
