It looks like ZOS decided to finally comment on how Reflective Scales is currently draining magicka for each projectile reflected and they will fix this issue with 1.4 next week. I'm wondering if you agree or disagree with this fix as it relates to DK's overall power in comparison to the other classes?

    If it's not intended, it's not intended and that's fine. I do think they should increase the magicka cost though. I think it is unfair to have them absorb the cost of each spell + spend magicka to cast the reflect in the first place, but I don't think it is a spell that should be so easily spammable. Maybe increase the cost in the same way they did with Bolt Escape.

    Deal with whatever other issues you have to deal with instead. You should not have to keep an ability in a bugged state to balance a class.

    That is a good point. I was unaware that it only sometimes drained your resources. If this is true that it wasn't always draining resources, then perhaps the times I've seen DKs being focused by many people who were stupidly casting many projectiles and the DK did not run out of resources, maybe that was one of the times it was 'working correctly' and that DK was not being drained of resources.

    Can anyone else confirm that sometimes Reflective Scales does not drain resources when reflecting a projectile and that this is a bug that is only in effect occasionally?

    I dislike DKs and acknowledge their OPness as much as any other guy (even though I have one vet DK alt) but I prefer them fix unintended features as opposed to changing tooltips to match the bugs like they do with NBs.

    Streak has been bugging and draining your magicka and putting you in animation but taking you nowhere since beta. They nerfed it on the PTS but still didn't fix the bug. -_-

    I do think DKs are OP but all bugged abilities should be fixed. Leaving abilities bugged is not a good strategy for balancing the game.

    If I were to say "DKs are doing just fine with it as it is" I would be a hypocrite, as I have been complaining about broken NB cloak since launch.

    I don't have a problem with it being fixed, I just don't want it buffed too much. 1 DK using it can render an entire group helpless if they are all ranged. don't tell me im full of crap, I have seen it many times. Fixed? yes. why not. Buffed? don't do it too much. just fix it and leave it as it is.

    hopefully, we don't have players endlessly casting it like they used to with the syrabane(how ever its spelled) set. if that crap starts happening again, Then it may need a major tweak.

    If you walk around with only projectiles as your form of DPS and you run into a DK using reflect.

    I'm pretty sure if your group sees a reflect DK and they all cast a non projectile at him he will drop like a fly.

    To be honest with you, I sort of just thought that they nerfed reflective scales. With my current set up I can almost keep it up most of the fight even against a fairly large group so this change will just make it easier for light armor users.

    This however will make it viable for DKs who use medium or heavy to actually use this skill from time to time and not instantly drop to 0 magicka.


    Also, keep in mind. DK's only have 1 DPS ability that is 15 meters (morph of stone fist). We aren't counting that chain because it is really unreliable and rarely useful.
    So the only way we can really defend or stand a chance against people kiting us or mowing us down from long range is reflective scales.

    Yes I know there are weapon abilities such as staff or bow, but you can't force a class to choose ranged weapons to be efficient.

    That being said, with this new fix coming in. I wouldn't mind if they gave reflective scales the Bolt Escape treatment.

    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP

    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns

    This also happens w/ sword and shields reflect. It drains the amount of magicka the ability costs, I'm not sure if this is intended or not since it doesn't state that it should be draining it, but it does. If anyone knows if this is intended or not I'd appreciate it if you could let me know, since Zenimax likes their secrets.

    I'm glad they fixed it..but in the process they better be fixing the mage's wrath explosion being reflected bug too.

    Just gonna say this and be done. Reflective scales are not OP as every one loves to say. It only last for 4 seconds and the attacks players want to reflect like lethal shot or crystal fragments take 1 second to cast and depending on how far away you are the travel time is 1 or 2 seconds so it's either you nearly reflect the spell or shot back or not at all and get hit. Plus can't forget about the sneakers using lethal shot for massive damage and we can't spam reflective scales just to stop the lethal shot massive damage boost when sneaking when scales already cost a fair amount of magicka.

    Scales has been utterly broken for 4 months now. Bow attacks not being reflected, reflected attacks not doing the damage they should, and both stamina and magicka getting drained depending on the type of projectile fired.

    Scales only reflects PROJECTILES. You have 10 different abilties and 2 Ultimates that you can use and if all those 12 abilities are PROJECTILES, then you are doing something wrong.

    It's just simple L2P issues and after 6 months, and nerf after nerf, people still cry about DKs. Hilarious.

    The skill is BROKEN. And it gets FIXED. It doesn't buffed, it gets fixed.

    First of all, any class with light armour can get this, stop saying "sorc vamp" or "DK vamp", it is a skill available to ALL classes (world skills) like the weapons.

    A templar vamp, NB vamp, DK vamp can do just that as well.

    Secondly, DKs got 6+ nerfs and this is still around, draining 200+ health from each enemy each second for 6 seconds (no limit to enemies being effected). So nerf talons and heals for max 6 players, nerf inhale for 3 enemies max but keep this super high drain open and unlimited? makes no sense to me.
    mDKs still need a lot of love!
